My ski season started like any ski season should, tons of McDonalds. I kept myself occupied playing Monopoly until A-basin and Loveland opened. I made it to Loveland the day after they opened for some fun laps and tried to ski A-basin on Sunday of their opening weekend. A few weeks later and Keystone opened! Breck opened the following week, so we skied Keystone some more. Enjoy! Also you can follow my blog @ catsloveskiing.blogspot.com :)

For Westward this year we will follow the exploits of the Ontario boys as they try to surmount their greatest mountain yet: school. UBC and UBC Okanagan will be the home of Westward this season enabling us to shoot on location at Big White, Silverstar, Apex, Kelowna backcountry, Kelowna urban, and much, much more. And of course, we will be making many trips back to the ?promised land? of Whistler, and a trip to where it all started: Ontario. Westwards primary goal for this year is to continue with the objective we started last year of putting Ontario skiers on the map and showing they can hold their own in the mountains of BC. Nimbus School is a section from our DVD release Hunting Yeti. It's always a challenge to re-edit footage that you have already used and make it into something new. Combining ski visuals with political undertones and setting the edit to Supertramp's "School" completely changed the pace and overall tone of this piece. It's always fun to play with different formats and come up with a new approach to editing footage. We shot all the portraits of average skiers in Oregon. Skiers from all walks of life who find what they are looking for on the ski hill gave interviews of their perspectives on skiing. We had a dentist, carpenter, butcher, pilot, bar tender, landscaper, etc.
So this is my KOS edit for the scandinavian qualifyer!
