BiffbarfHoly fuck you saying that earnestly is hilarious lmao
freestyler540Without Musk, Trump would have lost and congress would have been democrat led
Christian_BaleI wonder if trump could've won regardless. I guess we'll never know now but that's very concerning if true, which Elon himself claims. The idea that a single person can just buy an election should be alarming to everyone regardless of political beliefs
SlushSeasonLmao yeah. He's the worst one in this thread
Every response of his is making bad-faith assumptions about what someone else said.
SlushSeasonMississippi senators' salaries wouldn't even cover rent in DC.
Goretex_VidalIncentivizing them to work harder to elevate their constituents standard of living rather than freeloading off federal welfare dollars.

labubu-crazeFirey but peaceful protests.
ParkingLotPissPeaceful protests dont stop fascism
ParkingLotPissGive me one example of this.
I will gladly acknowledge it.

PartyBullshiitThese riots are asinine. Im a democrat, im pro immigrant. Im on the side of due process, but fucking throwing huge rocks at officers while they’re driving by is literally trying to kill someone, ordering Waymo’s just to light them all on fire is fucking insane. Using lime scooters to destroy cop cars is fucking ludicrous.
are their people protesting peacefully? Absolutely, but it seems like the majority is just there to cause shit storms, destroy property and create chaos which absolutely is not helping the cause.
VTshredder69From what I've heard the assholes protesting non peacefully come out at night and hide their faces under masks.
Makes the peaceful people look bad but they're definitely two entirely different groups.

labubu-crazeThe optics of setting fire to cars right after some terrible wildfires shows they did not send their brightest
PartyBullshiitThe videos of the people throwing rocks was middle of the day as well as them burning and destroying the Waymo’s. So I think it’s a day and night thing at this point.

SlushSeasonThey claimed that about the 2020 riots too, it's a convenient way for the organizers to wipe their hands clean. But in my LA suburb, it was the same people in the initially peaceful march that looted our downtown shopping center. On video, in broad daylight, hundreds of people broke off from the George Floyd march as it passed the main shopping center to smash windows and get some new nikes.
So i don't buy it. The violent element are not somehow a separate group from the peaceful protest. They're just the dumber/angrier/balsier people in attendance.
SlushSeason"I know saying this only feeds the idiotic notion conservatives have that they are somehow persecuted by the left and unfairly generalized as all being racist, homophobic, etc. But honestly, it isn’t a generalization.
Just because you don’t have an irrational hatred of people who aren’t white doesn’t exempt you from being racist. If you are someone who is willing to overlook and excuse racism, then you are, by extension, also racist.
By voting for Trump — who is objectively racist (argue about that if you want, but don’t be delusional) — you are facilitating and encouraging racism.
Anyway, the point is: active support of conservative policies and politicians is synonymous with being racist."
Flipped back a few pages to find this gem. I'd summarize your post as "even if you aren't actually racist, you're still conservative so I'll call you racist anyway". You're changing the definitions of words, mounting subjective opinions as objective facts, and making sweeping assumptions about people that allow you to dismiss them all as racist (about the worst insult a modern american leftist can think of). Yeah, that's a bad faith argument.
labubu-crazeYour 'fascists' are normal people trying to go about their day while you unlawfully block highways and destroy private property. The only 'black shirts' I see are thugs trying to cover their identities while they burn cars.
Can you just protest normally for once and not leave a mess for other people to clean up?
labubu-crazeIt also doesn’t help that people who have spent their lives studying fascism, the Holocaust, Nazi Germany, etc., are saying the same thing.
And which people are those?
ParkingLotPissJason Stanley, Yale professor and author of numerous books about fascism and propaganda.
John Kelly, retired U.S. Marine Corps general and former United States Secretary of Homeland Security.
Brian Hughes, associate director of the Polarization and Extremism Research and Innovation Lab at American University.
There are a few, but honestly, just look at what Trump does and ask yourself if this is how a person who believes in democracy would act.

Goretex_VidalThe highways’ initial construction was a violent act that evicted entire neighborhoods and towns with next to no compensation and backed by the threat of state violence. They’re no more or less lawful than protests blocking them, they’re just roads.
ParkingLotPissYou are not paying attention.Do you even know why people are protesting?
I know it sounds very stupid and alarmist to say America seems to be descending into fascism, but once you start looking at the parallels, it's pretty hard not to think that. It also doesn’t help that people who have spent their lives studying fascism, the Holocaust, Nazi Germany, etc., are saying the same thing.
VTshredder69yea throwing incendiary bombs at peaceful jewish protests is the ultimate anti nazi thing to do. Man those illegal immigrants really got it going on. Burning cars and blocking roads and throwing rocks is SOOO anti Fascist.

labubu-crazeI'm sure even someone of your astounding intellect sees the benefits for highways connecting different parts of cities and created accessibility for people to reach essential services and for essential services to reach different communities.
Also invoking 'original sin' is a dumb argument and you should feel silly for even trying it.
SlushSeasonYeah it's stupid and alarmist to scream 'fascism' and burn down a city when the government makes the slightest effort to remove people who are here without visas.
SlushSeasonPeople are protesting because ICE arrested 118 people in LA last week. There are 900k illegal immigrants in the city of LA alone. (Both stats come from The Independent)
Yeah it's stupid and alarmist to scream 'fascism' and burn down a city when the government makes the slightest effort to remove people who are here without visas.
abjectwoeSo you believe ICE has only detained/arrested people without visas?
They have detained/arrested citizens, legal residents, and visa holders.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deportation_and_detention_of_American_citizens_in_the_second_Trump_administration
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detention_of_Mohsen_Mahdawi
ParkingLotPissYou have been tYricked into thinking illegal immigrants are your enemy. This is not the case. The vast majority of them are normal people who work their asses off. The USA has relied on these people to plant and pick our crops and to build our homes and roads. These are our neighbors, not our enemies.
The US economy relies on them, and regardless of how you feel about immigration, the fact is that mass deportations are not the solution, not from a humanitarian standpoint and not from an economic one either.
So when people see their friends and family members being picked up by ICE, and they know there's a good chance that person is going to a detention center or prison, potentially in another country, what are they supposed to do? Because if that were your friends getting deported, I hope you'd be out there throwing rocks as well.
And it doesn’t help that Trump is clearly trying to give himself more and more power and make it easier for him to act without legal restraint or consequence. The economy is going down the drain and things are getting more expensive for the working class while billions are being funneled into the pockets of the ultra rich.
And yes, blocking the road from the masked police who will not be held accountable for any legal violations is very anti-fascist.
SlushSeasonI, however, have no sympathy for Mohsen, Mahmoud, and any other foreigners claiming to be victims of persecution after themselves persecuting American Jews.
VTshredder69Sounds like you've been tricked into thinking breaking the law is a good thing.
