VTshredder69I'm not entirely sold on the whole global warming thing. Sure C02 may reflect the suns rays a bit but doesn't more carbon Dioxide just mean more food for plants?
Don't we prefer a slightly warmer planet instead of a colder one where glaciers cover where I live?
No doubt that humans can effect the temperature on earth but no one can measure the earth's normal change as it happens naturally.
VTshredder69I guess you don't know how photosynthesis works.
But i forgot the government is here to help us.

What the fuck does this have to do with photosynthesis? You actually have no idea what you are talking about, classic uneducated opinion about climate change from a braindead "conservative" I know you troll a lot, but this is either 0/10 rage bait or you need to open you fucking eyes brother.

i think you honestly lack reading comprehensions skills.

VTshredder69C02 is required for photosynthesis lol.

That still has nothing to do with climate change. Climate change is real, please stop trying to downplay the real problem that is increasing CO2 and increasing global temperatures. You are a skier for god sakes, stop being such a fucking clown about real problems.
The earth's climate has always changed. Before humans existed as well.
I've been hearing about rising ocean levels since the 80's. What gives with that though?

Look at the fucking source! Its a metaphysics website for fucks sakes; the hippiest people you will ever meet. Has Google purged all the bullshit about the earth is getting colder that you resorted to a hippy webpage?
Of course we are heading towards next ice age. It's cyclical
Did you even read the article? Or the sources linked?
"Earth’s climate is on a slow march toward another deep freeze, but humans have added a plot twist. We’ve increased greenhouse gas levels so much that we might be delaying or even canceling the next ice age entirely. That’s like hitting pause on a movie that’s been playing for millions of years—but no one knows if we can hit play again."
"Earth's last ice age ended around 11,700 years ago and a new study predicts the next one should be 10,000 years away.
But the researchers say record rates of fossil fuel burning that are increasing global temperatures will likely delay this due date.
The findings, published in the journal Science, found fluctuations in Earth's orbit caused Northern Hemisphere ice sheets to expand and retract in natural cycles every 100,000 years.
"We found a predictable pattern over the past million years for the timing of when Earth's climate changes between glacial 'ice ages' and mild warm periods like today, called interglacials," Lorraine Lisiecki, a paleoceanographer at the University of California, Santa Barbara, US, told reporters."
Science is always changing so to jus blindly believe 100% all the time makes me laugh at these doomsday climate change Lovers

VTshredder69Nice so weather and temps are cyclical? Thanks

I meant glacial periods are cyclical. I don't think weather is cyclical but I guess some weather patterns are cyclical? Probably depends on the definition of words.
The current situation cannot be explained with just "The climate has always changed". It's happening too fast. It's abnormal. Nature doesn't have enough time adjust.
It seems that you have no idea how scientific research works. Try some critical thinking once. Blindly hating/opposing something is not critical thinking just like blindly believing is not critical thinking.
The biggest problem in my opinion is that the full outcome is impossible to predict. They can point some things are going to happen and most of the worst scenarios are "can happen" type of situations. Anything from mild winters and bad farming conditions to doomsday is apparently possible. People would act faster if there was clear easily accessible information about it instead of entertainment news and nutjobs throwing paint to culturally important pieces.
The science went from global warming, now it's called climate change and now we're heading into an ice age. I'm sure that won't change a million more times. I like to follow the constantly evolving science. Earth was here before humans and it'l lbe here long after humans.
not sure why people get so mad about someone's opinion on he internet but it's funny to watch

Can we all at least agree that polluting our water and air is bad? That we shouldn't blindly mine/drill for resources or build factories with zero thought on what the affects may be?
This history of Superfund sites is pretty interesting and I think everyone should look into it to gain a better idea of what damage can be caused when businesses are left to regulate themselves.
Your nobel prize is waiting if you can debunk it. It's great to be skeptical though nothing wrong with that. But id put my money on NASA's and every other countries space programs endless observations.
the fact you cant stop talking about covid says it all, youve got literally no leg to stand on, you just default to some dumbass take that nobody asked for and nobody cares about.

theabortionatorIf this is about trump yikes... if this is about shifting politics then yes
It isn't about politics at all lol. I was thinking about how silly it would be if we built a simulation to harvest people for resources only to then waste resources making the sim an online multiplayer.
The whole matrix thing is basically just another version of the Omphalos hypothesis. I cant disprove we arnt stuck in a simulation the same way one cant disprove the universe didnt start last Thursday, or that this is all a coma dream. I chose to post a silly meme rather than debate him because of a philosophical razor called Newtons Flaming Lazer Sword which states "If something cannot be settled by experiment or observation, then it is not worthy of debate."
But people don't understand what cloud-seeding is nor do they understand that passenger planes do not have the capabilities to control the weather.
I was on the chairlift with some guy this year that pointed at a cloud in the sky and legitimately thought the fuckign government flew a plane over bumfuck Oregon to change the weather.
abjectwoeSome people think so. Chem trails and shit.

VTshredder69Whatever is going on I'll take record snow this season in VT. we seem to be going the right direction here for snowfall accumulation.
genuinely glad you had a good season over there but climate is different from weather. climate is the long term average of weather. variations in the weather don't necessarily mean much in regard to the overall climate. Some places might be having colder winters but if you look at what's happening to glaciers all over the world the picture seems pretty clear, no?
I just want to revisit the fact that Trump made a speech about how he was hearing the word groceries for the first time in his life like 45 different god damn times this past year

Without John Oliver, I never would have known this. What a goon lol
ParkingLotPissIf the climate is changing, why is there still snow?”
Just an unfathomably stupid thing to say. Buddy, we already knew you aren’t good at critical thinking — there’s no need to tell us again.
I went for a drive and didn’t crash my car — I guess that means car crashes don’t happen.
I have absolutely no tolerance for climate change skepticism. There’s just no excuse for that level of stupidity.
If global warming was real how did the Donner Party get their wagons buried and have to survive in the Sierras? Oh shit, that was like 2 seconds after the industrial revolution
So you're telling me the ice age before this... the glaciers never melted?
how many ice ages have we even had on the planet? Probably many.
