jimbobsGenuinely hard to beat a Fox Proframe in terms of comfort. The closest fully to feeling like a half shell imo. Moved up to a Leatt DH recently and it's also quite good, but def heavier and bulkier.
edit: i did manage to break my nose wearing a proframe, so just keep in mind it is a tradeoff

WoFlowzdo it bro. j make sure if u get smth with a 4.6 u throw a 180 degree thermostat in there and ultragage. also, id only buy a 4.6 if its got impeccable care, even then it can be a gamble. the 3.9 & 4.0 r way better options, though all are quite simple to get under. if its a D2 id check the rear cross member, drive shaft, and like on any old rover door sills, wheel/foot wells, bulkheads on defenders and etc for rust.
theyre not rly like anything else, you feel like you could drive over anything in an old rover. my disco 2 i had for a few weeks got my dad hooked and even tho it went to the parts yard, he’s actually looking at a ‘96 5spd D1 this weekend in ohio for himself.
