This may be more of a Site Discussion topic but do you think NS gets enough traffic, both actual members and lurkers, to justify killing the regionals section and making it into a job board/help wanted/housing classified for ski bums? Im just getting this idea by looking at outdoor industry job boards and how they have partnerships with brands and resorts for employment.

Regionals for my area (Ohio Midwest) have always been completely useless in the 10+ years I’ve been here. Granted I live in an area with far fewer skiers than many members out west, but I would imagine regionals are dead as fuck even there as well

i’m 95% sure that there used to be a job section on here for industry jobs but i couldnt find it (using mobile web browser like a weirdo so that could be a contributing factor lol) but maybe a revisit for mountain living in general with area specific tricks and tips like free community dinners, events going on, etc. that also had a local classifieds in there would be dope. i’m sure most people on here do not own property in resort communities but could be beneficial if someone was like hey leaving my spot hit up my landlord before i leave and swoop it or some shit.
i actually didnt know there was a regional section until this post so not sure what already goes on in there but i betcha its under utilized. also just noticed there was a ladies gabber section as well. lol

that would probably end up just as dead as regionals already is. Nothing stopping people from posting similar stuff like that regional currently
r00kieReligious or not, all homeschoolers fall into two categories, the few who had a great parents and co ops and are actually advantaged and have a jump start on a lot of things and the many who were pretty much noschooled and now have to figure it out on their own.
I was homeschooled. We had coops and what not but my parents hardly taught me a thing. I taught myself everything. I was in college at 13 and basically a prodigy but got burned out and now I’m just tryina finish my bachelors and using too many substances

are you sure they aren't just trolling you? I work with a dude that doesn't actually believe the earth is flat but will argue as serious as possible that it is any chance he gets.

There is the Now Hiring forum, but yeah it's not really active (106 total threads, none last year and 2 this year) at all unless anyone is looking for an engineer job in Mammoth Lake right now.
Young_pattyWe got a new 7th grader at the school I work at. Kid has issues.
He can't stay organized, can't socialize right, can't keep up in class, has 0 work ethic, and has a huge attitude problem.
Turns out the kids parents pulled him out of public school to homeschool him for a couple of years, apparently they didn't use much of a curriculum and just taught him "life skills"- whatever tf that means.
Well, the same kid just took a state standardized test and got a score that's more on par with a 4th grader. Gotta love homeschooling! Clearly things like writing and PEMDAS were not apart of "life skills"- cause he can hardly do either.
Oh and the best part is, his parents wanted him to start a grade ahead. We wanted to hold him back a year and place him in 6th grade but his parents tweaked and argued he should actually be in 8th grade instead so we just stuck him in 7th.
Idek what we're gonna tell his folks either, like congrats- you've severely delayed your kids social and academic development by entire years so you could teach him "life skills".

I got a job offer w/ housing opportunities to patrol at Granby Ranch in CO. Gotta think about this.
where’s the housing? get the ikon too since your super close to WP and steamboat and copper (kinda). i wouldnt be surprised if the granby ranch employees got free passes to WP.
