LonelyWhat is the obsession with snowsports brands and grateful dead? 686, TGR, K2 etc.
Why is the branding for an incredibly average rockbrand all over in the ski community?

MinggWhere’d all these orange names come from lmao
SteezyYeeterwhen i (my dad) rented skis we got them from "fire on the mountain" the logo was pretty cool, a skeleton skiing down a flaming mountain. obviously a grateful dead thing.
i prefer phish tho
fabbeYou get an orange name when you:
1. Proffesional skier (me)
2. Company
3. Person of significance

animatorI used to yeah, I worked there for 5 years! Owner is a big dead head and it opened 35 years ago when the industry hadn’t caught on quite as much with all the Grateful Dead collabs and stuff
armchair_skierIs there a label that owns dead? Who has control of marketing and brand deals for them?
For ski companies making Grateful Dead anything seems to be a certified AAA rated safe move. Very trendy for the all the evil fake hippies in tacomas out there rn.

SteezyYeeterokay a couple things
i am so stoked for ski season. i can't stop thinking about it. i've started watching ski movies again, which i remember doing last year which seems so short ago.
so i just watched zootspace, i watched it once last fall but this was my second time seeing it. i was really impressed with the music choice. it wasn't just a bunch of crappy rap songs, it was real music and added a lot for me, it contrasted the usual urban skiing weed smoking kind of thing.
also i went to "hoco" (i hate that abbreviation) last night, first dance i've gone to. it was better than i expected, s'alright.
fabbeI thought you was core, Tim, but you have only watched Zootspace twice !?!??
severly disappointed…

CowboySkibophow do I apply
Michigan_SucksNormally I go grocery shopping early AF on Sundays like 6 am....couldn't make that happen today so I am currently at my local WinCo at 2:40...how do normal people live, I'm good with another genocide at this point.
LonelyThe amount of non-self aware people at a grocery stores always get's me real onboard with eugenics for 3 hours post shopping
TOAST.don't worry the 5 cases of soda are working on it
MichiganCatFartI just realized Joe Dirt is a spoof of Forrest Gump

RparrI have a friend who has been drinking 15 diet sodas a day for 10 years now. Man is going to die
TOAST.15 a day is a typo, right?
Rparrnope. I lived with this guy for 2 years, I saw it everyday. What I didn't realize until he pointed this out to me is that diet soda has caffeine in it. So because he is ingesting like 600mg+ of caffeine per day, he gets rather strong migraines anytime he tries to reduce consumption or switch to decaf diet soda. Makes me very grateful that I haven't drank soda in nearly 2 decades
SteezyYeeterdover, nh? if so, sick! cool little place

CoolChillGuy420If one were to apply for ski patrol jobs in the East Coast, what mountains/hills should be considered? Yeah you're not going to be chucking bombs or cutting cornices, but skiing greater than 500' sounds better than anything in the midwest. Major Bonus points for actual professional outfits and not Volly crews. I've dealt with enough power-hungry boomers who were firefighters in the 80s in NY.
