partyandBSi actually respect the decision to use the inheritance to pursue a passion/business venture. i would even encourage others to do so in the same situation especially while you’re younger. kit chat potential was there. if presented in a different manner, could have been incorporated into events like dewtour where they coordinated you going up the lift with the us team so that they could casually name drop all their sponsors and mention a bit about their process for the comp and other ski focused questions, etc. or brands could have sponsored an episode and for a day you would find and offer to interview everyone who was wearing that companies gear. could it have been managed better? 100%. dramatic on camera, sure that’s the ploy but dramatic off with mack or kids at the hill is bad for business. publicly voicing conspiracy theories, racist views, etc. and the egotistical rhetoric is probably what’s gonna limit you to entry level jobs until your next family member dies lol.
what i don’t like is using the time you took to create kit chat and focus on your art as a reason as to why you are better than others or to belittle others. inheritance isn’t something earned. it’s a gift. if you could just present your self in a more appropriate manner and with discipline, you’d probably have a lot more success with your business ventures.

X_ANKILLAWell I wanted to do all of those things you suggested. But there's an issue. You gotta sell out and lose control of your dream project. And I wasn't willing to take a paycheck and lose the ability to ask my own questions and do my own ideas. So sucks to suck I kept it a buck 100 and never sold out. My integrity is intact. and I'm happy with Kit Chat and all it did.
And you might not understand the behind the scenes of Kit Chat, but kids will hate anyone who is getting recognition when they are not. So skiers hated us for no reason. They harassed us. Threw things at us. Sprayed Liza. Cussed Liza out when I wasn't around. The level of everyday hate and abuse we got was disgusting, even with the copious amounts of love we got everyday too.

bennwithtwonsIf you don't mind, can you say how much you spent on it? It is important to keep in mind that inheriting money doesn't mean someone never has to work again (in most cases). For example, when I turned 22, I inherited about $17k from my grandmother, who had died 5 years earlier. I used $14k of that to pay off 3 of the 5 student loans I had from college and kept the remaining $3k as a little extra backstop for my first winter skiing after college. By living frugally, that extra bit of cash, plus what I saved over the summer working like a maniac, allowed me to work just the weekend/holiday scheduled instead of full time. I'm sure my grandmother would have been stoked that I used that money the way I did.

Believe it or not just expressing my genuine opinions online has made the owners of Surface skis refuse to sell me skis. I purchased a pair online, and they literally cancelled my order, and then Lil Jojo bragged about it on Two Plankers.
The Arsenic community hates me because I kept asking why Tall T Dan has skiied for so long but still sucks. I also criticized Emmett for the same thing. But he is a better than Tall T Dan. But Emmett still isn’t a “good” skier.
Couch Mole hates me because I’m better than him. That’s at least my best guess to why, but he says it’s because of my opinions. But he gets hot under the collar when I talk ski ability with him.
but yeah I could keep going but I’d really have to sit down and review the years of hate.
I did work at Level 1 for a summer. I did it for my college internship requirement. I sorted footage and I made summer sale ads. I also designed a canopy for them. I feel like Josh Berman stopped liking me when I told him that Pleasure was a good uptick for Level 1, the past few movies just lacked.

dwt802Nah let’s get into it. Talking this much shit about other peoples skiing when you can ONLY ski rails and jumps well doesn’t translate. Freeskiing, aka the newschool movement includes both park and freeride. If you pizza between features it looks like shit. If you don’t have good skiing fundamentals your park skiing takes a hit from it. And being able to ski tech lines well and doing tricks throughout is included in the definition of newschool skiing 100 percent. The ultimate newschool skiers (think like Candide and tannerhall, or more modernly Colby Stevenson or Marcus Eder) are experts at all the aspects of skiing, not just park.
