I understand that for many of us NS was our first introduction to the world of Park Skiing on a grand scale. So we all came here as jerry's and noobs looking to learn more. But the essence of progression has fell from NS's members. Too many members here have high and lofty opinions on skiing but haven't learned a new trick in seasons. Too many members fill the forums with comments but forget to fill their pages with edits and sick photos.
So I ask, don't you care to back up all of your opinions with the wisdom of your experience?
If I had to guess, I’d say most people are probably putting their clips on Instagram instead of saving up for a few months to put together an entire edit, which is considerably more work. I remember making the Northstar team edit back in the spring of 2012 and it took me about 40 hours of editing to make a ~20 minute video. Compare that with the ability to load a cool clip on the chairlift moments after it happens and I think you’ve got your answer.
Also, I’d say the level of skiing is better than ever. There are a million people we’ve never heard of all around the world absolutely throwing down. Again, most people are looking for likes, comments, shares, followers etc. on Instagram rather than NS.

Yes, I agree. But my question is more concerning those who are presently on NS. I understand IG has taken a whole demographic of skiing away from NS. But the one's who are still on NS, why aren't they contributing with edits. They only contribute with opinions. Maybe you're right. Those who wanna play the game of glory are on IG. And those who want to just talk about skiing and their opinions are on NS because IG is hard to have public discussion on.

You should try working towards making an edit. It's very self-validating when you can sit back and admire your work and achievement. Other's validating it is mere bonus.

filming myself is hard and my main ski homie has a broken foot right now. Don’t necessarily like asking others to film but it has crossed my mind to set up a tripod and stack some clips.

As one of the worst skiers that falls in this unfortunate categorization, i think it has something to do with fluoride, tariffs, wet markets, lack of intuition, or some combination of said factors.
honestly i think most of the illest riders on this platform got kicked off long ago for their divisive opinions on geopolitics, and casual slurs.
i think i’ll always be a social media skier, i’m just addicted to the process of stacking phone clips and making a fun lil edit. but anytime i have cam clips/tripod/gopro i’ll edit on the laptop and post it on here and youtube. i was never on this site in its glory days but i appreciate it for what it is now and still find value in it.
also i typically don’t talk shit to people unless i know im a better skier than them lol and its close with you. i respect the rail and jump game but you are a kook imo. would love to play you in slvsh as the newschoolers representative but i think id need it to be rails only lmao. i was just out at copper riding with ryan (JB) but got hurt and am home now

100%, also forgot to mention that Tom P guy who lives in gear talk and engineers K2 boots or something lol. Also hit some street spots with stokedelic and rode with him a decent bit, he's good.
Jems, evancantspin and rojo.grande are also filmers, i could probably do this all day if I really sat down and tried. Either way there's like 5 people I know of that are mid and all of them are funny so that alone is a worthwhile contribution to the ski scene

But since we are talking about heritage, did you know that africa is the craddle of humankind? Maybe you should thank your African ancestors for your own existence. Lets be honest here. The skill of NS members declined because nobody who is actually sick at skiing thinks its cool to say you’re public opinion on a fuckin internet forum and/or dont want to be perceived as a nerdy type dude because forums are inherently kind of nerdy. NS was a fad for pro skiers during a certain era and it did its job well. It shot itself in the foot because nowadays you can post a stupid comment and get 50 upvotes and the sickest videos of the year sometimes don’t even crack 30. Its a total shame if you ask me. NS did it to itself and what should be the central hub for content creation just became a straight up forum. Good skiers want everybody to like them and they want to get upvotes on videos. NS may tarnish your reputation and you wont get likes anyways so who gives a fuck.

Dude, @Christian_Bale already provided you with a valid example: Egypt. Rome and Greece are also great examples depending on how you define "whiteness". Especially considering that the racial distinction between Greece and the middle eastern countries is drawn by historical lines (i.e., the Battle of Marathon). But here are some more just off the top of my head: Persian Empire, Mongolian Empire, multiple Chinese Empires, Islamic Caliphates.
I am proud of my English heritage. I am also proud of my Mormon pioneer heritage even though I am no longer part of the religion. But I don't need to downplay the importance of other groups of people to feel secure in where I come from. I hope you get to that point someday @X_ANKILLA. It really is beautiful when you can appreciate all of humanity instead of just a narrow piece of it.
