I don't get why should Americans be punished for trying to save money in one of the most expensive times to be alive? Like saying the tariffs are progress because it's going to force people to buy American instead of supporting corporations outsourcing cheap labour of so flawed because American products are more expensive to begin with because of labour costs. American labour will never be cheaper than China's, that's why globalization inherently makes things cheaper, and that's why companies chose to go that route is because cheaper things sell more, and that's just what people want.
Like people can't afford to live today, right now, and Americans are just supposed to hope in the long run tariffs will make things cheaper because Trump says so? The midterms are gonna be a bloodbath, just like in his first term
I know markets always bounce back. It's true they do. But right now i'm sorta pissed that I've been putting away 15% of each paycheck to split Roth and 401K for the past 18 Months or so. Like that money easily could pay for multiple nice ski vacations out west.

Roth is taxed when you deposit, 401K taxed when you withdraw it.

The market hasn't made much sense since before Donald Trump or Elon though. I was investing in Enphase in Circa 2015 and the stock would report massive losses & yet pop 10% after their earnings report.
The more you realize it doesn't make any sense, it'll make more sense.

I feel like this gives Trump to much credit, I'd bet that it's the other way around. I'd guess that all the rich billionaires understand that this guy dosen't really have a spine especially if you have more money than him, and they've been able to steer him in this direction so they can buy more capital at low cost. They know these policies won't work and they know he doesn't have the spine to maintain them so they know eventually markets will go back up, giving them profits in the long run.
