Combination of drought and Covid killed their only ski area.

my dad would travel from co to san francisco or orlando for a week or two at a time for work when i was a kid and one time it aligned with our fall break which was 2 weeks in october so when he went to work we went to disney and i picked that water park because it looked like a ski resort. Did it actually shut down?!

Only temporarily at the moment; my sister moved down a few years ago and was complaining that her family Disney season pass included admission to the water parks but in 2021 it was closed for Covid the whole year and is now shut down for at least a year for a rebuild.

Yea those beautiful beaches and great fishing completely suck. Who would ever want to sit in the sun on a beach or take a boat out, drink beer, and fish. Some people are egregious.

thats fun for some people but i dont eat fish. and my adhd makes sitting on a boat or beach miserable.
fuck florida. no one there knows how to use a god damn blinker either. they either leave them on forever because they are old and senile or they dont use them at all.

yeah i had been using alcohol to compensate for adhd for years cause i fuckin hate ritalin and adderall. but like many with adhd and drinking, i was never able to have just 1 or 2 beers. it was a PROBLEM lol. throw in dead friends, broken bones, and a divorce and that problem amplified. soooo no beer for me these day lmao. and definitely no fishing.

Renovating the water park. It’s been around for a hot min and needed a refresh. I have an annual pass but usually stay away during the summer it’s fucking stupid hot.

River fishing > ocean fishing. Marshes are dope out there but just being with my girl, dogs, and a 6 pack on a Rocky mtn river is prime summer.

Nah, fishing is only fun when ur sitting on top of the tuna tower frying in the sun
swooped this from my parents on the cheap. she gets 34 mpg so a full tank lasts me a month if i am just in the valley. i spray painted the rims. good from far but far from good. pretty sure it doubles in value if i throw my bikes on the back 😆
Nice, i spend a lot of my time at work counting rings aging trees. What tree is this and where?
Some of the douglas fir ive found in interior bc have been around 200 years old but it gets tough to accurately age them once theyre that old without cutting out a cookie like you have. I just use an increment borer for work.
Hell yeah sweet ride seems reliable and good milage is awesome. I can relate to you on the bike thing haha it feels good to run a cheap car though so you can save that money for a sweet bike

in foothills of alberta, lodgepole pine. really really big tree for here, mostly little ones that are still ~100 years old as it’s so dry. this guy survived the fire we had 100 years ago. building mountain bike trails and unfortunately this guy had to go. we usually try and only take dead ones but no other option here.
i wish we had some bigger trees here. what do you do?
Wow that is an old lodgepole damn pretty cool. Surprising it survived a fire cuz they got thin bark and usually die. I work as a forest tech around Revelstoke.
Where you building trail?
