My hospital is preparing for widespread measles outbreaks and I’m not ready for it 🙃
edit: there’s less and less info on measles coming out yet hospitals are doubling down on preparation which makes me worried that it’s actually worse than the CDC is reporting. Pages from the website are disappearing and we just don’t know what’s actually happening. It’s fucking wild.

Apparently up here in Ontario we’ve got more active measles cases provincially than the entire USA. This anti-vax stuff fucking drives me up the wall.
VTshredder69You're not insane. Almost never get droughts, and when it happens like last summer, we are back to normal reservoir water levels 8 months later.
No tornadoes, almost no serious hurricanes, almost no serious fires.
Winters here are hit or miss for skiing and that'd be my only complaint. Winter 24/25 was the best season we've had in a decade and it makes it that much better. I get bored of seasons after 3 months but thankfully there are four of them and you know when they hit.
Jones Beach LI is one of the best beaches in the world. It's worth a trip! I go 2-3 weekends in July and August when the water gets warmer each summer. Usually camp sat - sun for free on the sand and never had an issue.
Burlingame in RI is another epic camping spot in the woods where you can camp for $20 and walk to the beach.
VT / NH are some of the most beautiful spots on the planet and such an easy drive up 91 from CT.
Welcome back!
VT and NH are prettier than anywhere else in the country to me as well, but that's also an insanely homer take lol
Greece has The Iliad, Italy has The Inferno, Britain has Paradise Lost, even the Carribean has Omeros, what will America's national epic be?
Truthfully idk what it would be, but if it were me writing it I would make it about Billy The Kid. I don't think there's really many stories that could define our nation like Billy. I just listened to a huge podcast on him and his life story is actually insane, suprised there hasn't been more film and books written about him.

10000000% noticed this too. The Ohio department of health hasn't published an update since March. Knox County that is adjacent to counties around Columbus hasn't published a case update since 4/14. Same for Ashtabula county. Silence during a period of rising (not declining) case reports. That's weird. Their guidance for health professionals was practically nonexistent. For accelerated vaccine schedules, I had to refer to archived CDC publications, AAP and JAMA articles, and look what districts in Texas were doing. I shouldn't have to look that hard for information. It's also hella suspicious that they're not reporting like they should be, though I have yet to see any diagnosed cases in our county, which would be all but guaranteed if there was still spread going on.
I can't wait for cold and flu season though since Ohio has one of the worst vaccination rates for MMR. Last time we had an outbreak, it spread through infant populations and exposed thousands. That shit costs a ton of money to evaluate and provide post exposure prophylaxis.

That’s crazy, I did not know it was even in Canada. Antivax for the win let me tell you 🙄

I only really noticed after getting feedback for a project I did last semester. One of my citations came from the CDC and the page was no longer available and my professor questioned me on it. Then getting the alert from our system that measles is probably coming and we’re prepping for it now. I looked and it’s not as easy as it should be to find info. Covid was bad with misinformation. Measles is probably going to be that much worse. Yay for us 🙃
Oh man, its really bad in BC. 82% under 2 years old have the MMR, 73% of seven year olds have been properly immunized. Heard immunity has been lost and BC has been hit pretty hard with measles. People in Nelson walk around with rusty quartz to ware off the energy of measles. Its straight up madness how our education system failed them.

That is really bad/sad. I think our rates are in the 90s where I am, at least for adults. Not sure about children. Still not where they should be, but also better than most of the country.
I can’t even be angry at some of these people. They genuinely do not know better (sometimes). The people spreading the misinformation are parasites but I don’t know if you can stop it all at this point.

We are 100% fucked my dude. Like way worse than people think.
Not only is the head of the HHS a staunch anti-vaxxer, he just appointed David Geier in charge of finding out the cure of autism. (well he was hired mysteriously as a senior analyst, RFK states he is not in charge of it, but refuses to answer what he actually is doing other than investigating vaccines).... Yes, disgraced researcher and extreme anti-vaxxer who has falsified data to show mmr vaccines cause autism, and was practicing medicine illegally without a license. Yes he was literally charged with practicing without a license in Massachusetts, and has 0 medical training. He has a bachelors in arts.
He also illegally treated autistic individuals with non FDA approved puberty blockers, saying that he it would decrease the symptoms of autism.
Anyways, we should be actively preparing for them to come out and say that vaccines cause autism. Its going to happen whether or not the data exists, they will make it exist. We are fucked. It will not matter if the data is proven false, it will not matter how many times medical professionals condemn it. They will believe these people over reality.

I definitely saw something about them starting an autism registry, which will absolutely discourage people from being diagnosed, so the “rate” of autism will decline and they’ll try to credit x,y,z for decreasing autism when really it’s just skewed data/analysis. I really, really want this to be a conspiracy theory and not real life
I have not looked into autism at all but I was told by my mother that women only have 6% of there eggs by age 30. and the hormone that helps repair day 2 and 3 cells barely works, so you have much higher risk of unhealthy babies the longer you wait. Our generation has delt with an economic decline which in turn makes people not want to have kids right away. So it could just be we are having kids later than normal

It's "Last Podcast on the Left". They're a group of comedians that cover true crime, history and other cool stuff. They did a 4 part series on Billy- episode 462 is when it starts I believe. They cover his entire life all the way up to his (alleged) death, and they do a really good job of humanizing him and his story.
Like how you could listen to his story and walk away hating him is beyond me. Dude had a great sense of humor, was loved by many towns all over the west, and actually wasn't nearly the villian that he was painted to be. At the end of the day he was pretty much a small irish kid who liked to wear a sombrero and party with locals. He also fought with the regulators and battled political corruption all over the west so kind of just a cool dude all around tbh- would highly reccomend anyone listens to his story.
Definitely true. The longer you wait the higher the risk becomes.
Throw in all the fertilizers and pesticides in our drinking water, complete garbage processed food 90% of Americans consume daily, and vaccinating people over things that the human body can easily get over like covid, and you have an amalgamation of bullshit you're putting into your body consistently. Hence higher instances of cancer and Parkinson's. Don't have to be a doctor to see what's happening.

Lmao, you are either profoundly unpatriotic or just have no idea who the Regulators were.
Those dudes were some of the most hardcore outlaws to ever live, they took up arms against a land barron who was extorting and intimidating local cattle farmers with the help of a corrupt sherrif. The Regulators were some of the most hardocre and based mf's to ever walk on American soil, they literally put that 2nd ammendment to work and reshaped the history of the American West.
Honestly though, I bet if this were the year 1774 you would be one of those British Loyalists saying "the tea party was criminal and the revolutionaries are pussies"- and then me and my buddies would tar and feather you in the street lol.

Law exam is also tomorrow. Only multiple choice and optional essay. Tried to study but I have feeling I know enough so that didn't work out. I'm so going to forget annoying details.

We all they are just going to sweep it under the rug. Best way to deal with it is to take matters into your own hands. Take few of your Big/muscular homies and find those bastards. Pretend to be real tough and threathen to do some violence to them. Don't actually touch the fuckers. Kids are usually scared of big boys so that should do the trick.
If you get in trouble just be like Randy and say "Oh I'm sorry, I thought this was America"
Just annoy the shit out of them with your words until they leave him alone. Trolling is just the gentle version of bullying without the violence.

i'd love that except my friends had the police threatened on them by administration for cornering one of their friends' brothers as a joke. i was going to say something to the kid, i'm just assuming that he's not gonna react at all (because he knows i can't do anything)
