Dlonettiif the dimensions of my tour ski are 140 tip, 105 waist, 130 tail, can I get 125 mm skins? found a good deal but don’t know if that fits my ski enough lol
It’s not ideal but if the deal is a steal then go for it, not much to lose, right? My skins are wider than my skis and they are super nice once it’s cut. I’d imagine it would be a little janky when its icy but as long as theres skin underfoot then it’ll be alright in most conditions.
SteezyYeeteri genuinely mean no offense but i really appreciate your posts because, to be blunt, it encourages me to stick to school so i don't have to be in your position. i really wanna just quit it all and ski sometimes but ik it's better to work hard now. hope it works out ❤

Yeup that will do perfectly fine as long as they are the correct length. They will come with a trim tool to cut them to the ski dimensions.
You don't need full side to side coverage the entire length of ski. Most people fit/trim for the underfoot of the to get the best grip to weight/packability since you'll not have as much material at the tip and tail. But you can also go even thinner if you want to save weight. You'll just lose grip. But that's for pretty specific scenarios so I wouldn't worry about it.
GayWolf420Keep coming back to this post for some reason. Mainly because these thoughts have been on my mind. I started working at resorts when I was a senior in HS. Dropped out of college to be a ski bum and didn't go back. I turn 29 this Fall and I make maybe $3-4/hr more than I did when I was a teenager. It's depressing. You love it so much but you want to walk so hard, but you don't have anywhere else to go because you just wasted good years chasing some sort of Dragon that was never there.
i certainly have a different perspective/experience. i think its way easier to standout in the ski industry than most industries. particularly at larger resorts. the turnover at resorts is insane. so there is seemingly endless opportunities to advance into leadership. they need to structure things so that someone can take over the reigns so its pretty easy to step in and then put your leadership style on it. you gotta be willing to move around so being a career park crew or patroller is def harder to advance than other departments. (especially hard to move up if there’s a union) its insane how many people
just show up to fuck off, ski, and party and then show up terrible at work. it makes it so easy to put in just a little extra effort to then be a stand out.
i will say having a shit leader will completely fuck any job though. so there’s that

appreciate the skin recommendations, copped the pair I wanted from Big Sky Mountain Products for $90 on amazon. the setup is slowly coming together. have brand new older model year marker kingpins that I paid $160 for at the local shop. Putting them on nomad 105 lites that ive used for a few years just as my regular all mountain ski. goal is to build the cheapest/most efficient tour setup possible without cutting corners. left on the list is boots, avy stuff and some misc gear. and education too I suppose. gonna ball tf out on boots once I have my vail discount again next season
Is unnatural rodeo easier than unnatural cork? I have tried unnat cork on tramp and it went poorly. I haven't tried unnat rodeo and I was thinking about it a lot today

I think having somewhat shitty leadership and management styles throughout the journey has had me really salty about shit. Turnover is a great point about being able to stand-out but also turnover is a super huge red flag when it comes to things and IMO sometimes people who aren't ready for leadership roles get thrown into them. All my leads and supervisors this past season acted like college kids and fratboys (because they were) and like you said, just wanted only to show up to fuck-off and ski and make people sit coverage so they can just go hit-on the coffee shop girls or something. I'm rambling but I hope you get the gist.
sick mane. i would suggest getting an afterbang matching your spin direction. like most players you primarily spin left, yet a lot of afterbangs have the left shoulder down. (jt9 made a lot of them, he must spin right). It's like your spinning one direction, and then after you land, you bang in the other way, which totally gets rid of the fluidity. I made one for spinning left, XKLAbangg. you'd have to dig around to find some other afterbangs that match left spins. or you could spin right.
probably not something many people would notice so it doesn't matter too much but it definitely ups your shredsauce game and is noticeable to avid shredsauce enjoyers (shredsauce pros? idk)
also it annoys me that fun park is boutta be the most upvoted map of all time it's legit mid. it's not bad but it should be at like 100 upvotes 😭

yeah I worded it better later on. not so much the shoulder but the director. your certified afterbang went in the same direction as the spin, which is chill as hell. also the way I look at it, your right shoulder goes more down than the left but that may just be me.
After 10 years, I finally learned the name of the kid who beat my brother in nationals the year before he quit snowboarding forever. Unlucky hahahahaha

SchizoSkierI really want some reckoner 102s but if I tore through a pair of on3ps in less than half a season I don’t think it would be a wise financial decision
had a buddy snap one just behind the binding just from a backseat landing lol. seems like a fun ski besides that
