I’m okay with the characteristics of the honey badgers, but after 3 days getting warmed up for the year in the park (simple shit) the topsheet is chipped and scratched like I’ve ridden them for years. Should have spent the extra money for ON3Ps
BdoobzImagine slandering a companies entry level ski for getting damaged during park use.
And imagine it being your first post. Complaining about topsheet chilling and scratches that’s normal wear and tear. Let me know when you blow an edge out or snap a ski.
I’ve messed up a lot of skis, and I don’t call a ton of chips down the outside of both skis “normal wear and tear” after 3 days of park

My Chronics got pretty beat up but lasted me 4 seasons of constant abuse in the rope tow parks. Edges blown out and delam in tips and tail but they still ski and were a blast to ski all 4 years.
I own Magnus 102s now as my one ski quiver and while I really like them and they are definitely more durable, they are a completely different world compared to the chronics. Both skis have very fun aspects to them. Wouldn’t say “Line is shit” by any means.

Also I bought my Chronics for $250 brand new. Which is a pretty dang good price especially compared to a lot of other skis out there. Don’t let price scare you away though, skier-owned companies are the ones you want to support!
Top sheet chips happen for a variety of reasons regardless of the brand, whether it be from crossing your skis in the air for blunts and mutes, scraping snow off your skis on the chair, the list goes on. I’ve owned plenty pairs of skis over the years and I find toosheet durability to be pretty even across all brands (for reference I’ve owned Line, atomic, HG, ON3P, armada, icelantic , and more). While I will say Line could definitely make their park skis stiffer (wallisch’s are a 10/10 in lines flex scale yet they’re hella soft). And when you ski rails aggressively, you’re gonna blownout edges, crack your core, blowout your sidewall, dent your base, list goes on... however I’ve noticed lines actually have pretty good resistance to edge cracking/ripping. So they’re durable no doubt, toosheet chips and other damage are just part of the game.
Hi guys, sorry I was just really fired up when I came home and my new skis were messed up. Went off way too hard lol and I really do like the way they ski. Hope you all get it.

These were my line tc’s only one season old, this happened right at the beginning of the new season, got on3p Kartels after and I’ve had those a solid 4 seasons now

Pretty much the same boat. I skied on my last pair of Chronics for about 5 seasons, and I just upgraded to the 2020s only because I found a screaming deal. Love both pairs. Although, I didn't blow out the edges or delam the tip and tail on my old pair. You're probably better than me haha
Yo armada is absolute shit as well. I only have 115 days on them and they are getting detuned, and guess what! They even have a small top sheet scratch from when I bailed on concrete. God ski companies are horrible!!
They are cheap Chinese made skis made by K2. If they gave a damn about their skis they would be made by the same factories that their competitors make their skis in USA or Europe. Instead, they decided to race to the botttom.

I think i have 50 days on my honey badgers plus at least 100 on the summer set up, and yea they are hella chipped, but I only have like 2 edge cracks and like no delam. They still ski perfectly fine. The topsheet is pretty much for cosmetics only and its lame to bash the ski over a few chips. If you had multiple edge cracks or delam after 3 days it would be a different story, but it sounds like its all cosmetic.

In a state of the art facility that k2 US employees helped setup and train the workers in. Just because it’s china doesn’t mean it’s cheap. K2 didn’t cheap out going there. In fact, it’s a better factory than using an old one in the US. The OP is using an entry level ski with cap construction and little knowledge of ski building. I’ve had a bunch of line skis and have had no issues. It really comes down to how the end user is using the product. For all we know he can’t ski, is constantly falling, crossing his skis and causing all the damage himself.
Line skis have consistently bad reliability, just check the threads here.
A company that produces the afterbang obviously doesn’t test their skis much or at all.

I remember when I was a noob and would cross skis etc scratching the shit out my ts bc i didn’t have the strength , skill , mind muscle connection to control my skis , I’ve scratched and tore up most brands
im a lil better now this problem has gone away
Ive had blends for going on 5 seasons now. They chipped pretty quick but the minor things like that dont affect the function of the ski. I beat the shit out of them, and even teach on them and theyre still ripping... granted with some delam and edge cracks. But to everyone elses point here, theyre park skis. If you dont want them to chip as badly, get better on not slamming your skis together. I trashed line at one point too, and my blends have basically told me to eat every fuckin word I said. Line still makes some solid sticks.
MXmxYeah, pointing out all the line ski threads makes me a idiot.
Looking at how deep and intellectual you are on your threads makes me jealous that I’m not a Nobel scholar like you are.
No but assuming line doesn’t test their skis and they are all shit is a pretty stupid assumption. You should’ve been around in ‘08-‘09 when the Salomon Suspects and Dumonts were exploding like an Iranian general.
Edge armor was not properly tested and sounded great on paper. On snow was a totally different story. Bases literally exploding.
If you're running a perfectly clean pair of twin tips, I am judging you
A women had our tune shop tune her skis and she came to my store and asked me why the topsheets were still scratched, i almost laughed in her face but very politely and sarcastically told her that theyre skis and get scratched and chipped, and that the tune makes the skis ride new not fucking look new.

How did you manage to snap a ski on both the tip and tail that severely? Snapping one and keep on riding? Otherwise I’d like to see that video or hear the story on this one.

Those look snapped opposite direction of what they woulda snapped during skiing
like they were upside down on cinder blocks and someone stood on them
I snapped one ski of 3 day old pair of Rossi hero’s behind the binding but that don’t make em crap , same for line your gonna have some factory fails , they still make great skis and they are affordable
on3p has been bashed before but we all know they are tanks
I tomahawked and they stayed on for the ride and this was the result lol

hopefully u did not also break
I have owned one pair of lines and they seem like they might last forever. They might be like 2011s and I skied them like last week.
Also Pollard topsheets which makes them the Shit IMO
_IRRELEVANT_Imagine getting one top sheet chip and thinking your park skis are shit
Had some Allplays from Jskis last year, hit the park frequently and the gloss was slightly scratched here and there.
It's been two seasons.
Got some line blends this year, hit the park frequently and there are huge chips and scratches exposing the wood underneath. It's been a week.
Honestly, it appears that your guys' topsheets are made of wet clay. I'm not sure why one would settle for horribly chipped up topsheets as a side effect of park skiing when clearly there are skis that seem to be indestructible.
No I was fine, I actually had a pair of back up skis with me that day and stayed on hill all day after
