I THINK THAT THE 1 FOOTER WAS A DISGRACE TO FREESKIING AND A BIG STEP FOR AGGRESSIVE INLINE. THE 1 FOOTED GRIND WAS SO GAY THAT IT SHOULDV LOWERED HIS AVERAGE.

THE ONLY DECIDING FACTOR FOR TANNER AND GAGNIER WAS THAT STUPID 1 FOOTER AND THE 1 FOOTER WON.

THIS SHIT WAS ON TV AND WAS A SERIOUS STEP BACK FOR OUR KIND OF SKIING

i agree entirley, if you want to rollerblade on snow buy snowblades. they also have indoor skateparks where you can rollerblade in the winter.

that is so very true, although i like gagnier and i thought the one footed slide kind of cool i agree that skiing shouldn't be influenced by rollerblading.

and the one foot slide was definently the reason gagnier was scored higher then tanner, seeing that tanner didn't do anything special with that first rail...

See, that's the thing. I liked the lipslide. It was subtler than the 1 footer, but looked good. I dunno, I wanted to see a nosepress on the top rail and a big zero on the last hit... style over substance, you might say? Fuck yes. Too many switch 10s this year.

PeterTosh, you give a vary bad rep for nithward and skiing. Fuck normal grind, im sick of them. Lip slide is easy as fuck, and you SHOULD KNOW THAT. You need to think a little more about what you say and stop bitching so much. And im not sure if you know but most of all the grinds and airs come from inline.

as for gagnier deserving to win: tanner did practically three switch rodeos (two with mutes), put his hands down, and did an unnatural five that should have been banned from competition if you want to talk about making the sport look bad in a large public forum.

for the last time, skiing and rollerblading dont mix. props to gagnier, his one footers actually didnt look too bad, but im going to cringe everytime i see some jerkoff try to imitate him with some sloppy ass backslide or whatever. so with that, dont try to be a rollerblader, and go shred some gnarrrrrr like a real skier.

^ok, then how do you feel about adding a Degree of Difficulty index to freeski competition judging. Hey, while we're at it, why don't we start judging airs based on the number of 'tricks' you do, but count a safety 360 as a straight 3 with no grab, and outlaw inverted aerials. That'd be rad. One footed slides may be hard, but that doesn't make them stylish, which I fully understand is a concept that resides in the eye of the beholder.

When does difficulty start counting more than style?

I've resisted on giving my opinion so far, but I'm sick of it. I would have HATED judging this contest, especially the top 3 runs. But I'm not sure I would have handed Gagnier a win. Not with Jon throwing down like he did, and Tanner doing what he always does, which is dominate. Every skier brought something different to the table, and on that day in question, the judges smiled on Gagnier. Whether or not he deserved it will be a topic for months, but that's what happens with subjectively judged sports.







Bahahaha... or, you could call it the 'elitist snob' cult. Anyways, my family already owns a country club, so no thanks.
