Yeah I'm not understanding it either. I think the bigger surprise is almost how stereotypical and predictable their forms of torture could be. Like, water boarding, telling the detainees they were going to fuck their mothers, telling them they would most certainly leave in a coffin shaped box, making them stay awake in a cold dark room with loud music... I think the only surprising thing was blending up food and shoving it up their ass, but shit even that's probably a typical Tuesday night for some people.

As for her releasing that information I am 100% against it. There are certain things that we the public do not need to know for are own good and for the safety of our service and ex service members

I started this thread to get some discussion going. I'm not at all surprised that these things were happening, but kind of surprised the CIA admitted it and that it didn't get any results. I mean do what you need to do, but if it's not working, figure out a way that will.

Yah these people organized the largest mass civilian casualty event in American history, and I get that this is really important to Americans because of the amazing job your government has done at convincing you that this was the most evil act ever perpetrated against any humans ever, so I can understand why you have completely forgotten that these are people as well. Putting them in a box the size of a mini fridge, doing fake executions, drowning them to near death, attacking them mentally and sexually, and holding them without any charges or the slightest chance that they will ever see a fair trial, just makes them hate Americans more. This just goes to show why "the global force for democracy" as your military ads say, is not at all a global force of democracy but a global force of imperialism and destruction who is only just barely holding onto any global dominance they once had.

The only thing that gives me hope is the fact that most of you are probably between 14 and 19 years of age but still, if you can't see why torture is wrong by now then all I can say is it's pretty clear that we've got a serious moral crisis going on in the US.

There's also the fact that torture is against both domestic and international law. Given the amount that some of the exact same people in this thread were bitching about "law-breaking" with the Ferguson and related events, you'd think that NS would be up in arms about this systematic violation of human rights and legal code by fucking agents of the law itself.

I challenge any one of you who supports state-sanctioned torture to show me a single example of torture by US agents in the "War on Terror" that produced unique, reliable, and actionable information that was used to save lives.

Except most of those fuckers were detained for simple things such as interacting with a known terrorist or family members of a suspected terrorist. Did you happen to read any article in the past 5 years relating to this matter? If you did, you would have read that torture is not a viable way to get information. That was proven, over and over again. People like you who feel that barbaric acts in history are a justification to keep committing such acts with no factual basis to do so are, in short, fucking morons.
