SavageBiffI’ve found the solution to be… tell your fitter what you need and want, I have a few “needs” in bootfitting, and no fitter ever got it right, after talking to 3 fitters on here I told the fitter what I wanted him to do, now everything’s perfect.
My final straw would have been the snowboarder, but it sounds suspect from the start… if they recommended a soft boot… why did u comply? Imagine they won’t take these boots back now? I had a fitter take a pair back I’d skied , but I went loco on them and explained their faults in front of about 15 customers so….pretty sure after hearing me ten of them walked out
Hahahaha smart move, sometimes you have to be a total spazz for them to take you seriously lol
Well the reason I complied with their suggestion was because I usually ride the Atomic Hawx 95 (resort boot). I wanted the same boot, except the XTD version for touring.
It was my first touring boot, so I had NO idea that touring boots are typically softer, and that the XTD 95 was made of a much softer plastic. He also said that the plastic will feel harder on the mountain since it stiffens up in the cold (kinda like my nipples). So I just took his word for it when he said that the 115's would be too stiff. The ski shop was pretty understanding and exchanged them for me.
I'm just annoyed because I've always relied on boot fitters to educate me on how bootfitting works. I doubt they'd take them back now. I toured like 15 days on them last season. I am going to see what they can do about it. No way in hell I'm paying another $750-$900 on another pair of touring boots!!!
