Yeah I know there were some rant threads over the years grinds my gears and whatever. I don't think any of them were that happening to dig up. I probably made one of them honestly. Whatever.
I figured if we could rant somewhere we'd be more docile creatures in the rest of the forums.
And who does referring to women as “bitches” impress? The other derpy and “single” homies?
This isn’t a women’s rights and respects post, I just think dudes referring to women in that way are in a class of the most clueless cliques of immature dipshits
WoFlowzBitches just steal yo music taste and use it to impress the next guy

I wouldn’t normally refer to woman or girls as bitches but this ones a bitch
I hear ya, and I’m guilty of that as well, but I’ve made an effort not to say that as it tends to piss off nearby women and generalizes, and I prefer more direct insults that don’t include all possible people.
WoFlowzI wouldn’t normally refer to woman or girls as bitches but this ones a bitch
Any dudes who grew up the youngest of 3 in a household thats mostly female-dominated once used the word "Bitch" and it was the very last time one would call a female a bitch lol....Got my ass whooped big time. So yeah don't do that.
BiffbarfJust wait till you show a lady a song you enjoy, she doesn't dig it, then later in the relationship shows you the same song. Bonus points if it's because another guy showed it to her.
Even better... When chicks can't stand a song or an artist because their ex used to play (insert song here) it all the time so you can't play it without hearing bitching.
What's your budget? Are you down for monthly payments or looking to pay in cash?
Fuck I wish I could afford cash. Probs gunna be on a payment plan. The girlfriend is looking at a Crosstrek for 20k which I would help with until I buy a car of my own. At this point it seems like I'm gunna have to spend 20-25k to get something decent.

It's a terrible time to buy used. Have you considered a personal loan or a loan against the vehicle for repairs? Could be way cheaper in the long run unless you really want something newer.

Yeah it really is.
I mean I was quoted 4k to fix the car and it's only worth about 3k-4500 on kbb. Feel like it doesn't make terribly too much sense to take out a loan for more than the car is worth and hope that nothing more goes wrong.
I have my buddy seeing if he can find a decent engine. Borrow a lift and get the knuckles greasy might be an option. But I still need to replace the CV axle and the radiator as well.

Look in your area what people are asking for their used pilots. It could be a very real possibility that your 4k kbb pilot could be going for 7-8k in this market. Kelly blue book is terrible for older cars, especially in these times. That said, if a newer car and payments are just easier to deal with I understand that completely. God speed, car problems suck ass.

Maybe take the Pilot to CarMax and see what they'll offer for it? You could put that towards a down payment on a used AWD car. There are lots of AWD crossovers and hatchbacks on their website for $20k or $300/mo if that's what you're considering. Carmax buys almost any vehicles as long as it runs.
I mention Carmax because you can get their MaxCare extended bumper-to-bumper warranty on some vehicles. The warranty is legit and will cover almost any future repair for up to 150,000 miles. Youtuber Doug Demuro famously got the warranty on a 12-year-old POS Range Rover and Carmax covered over $21,000 in repairs. You can buy a fun, unreliable vehicle and not worry about future repair costs. Budget your monthly payments, gas, insurance, and you won't have to deal with any surprises that come with buying used vehicles.
This sounds like an ad but it's not. I'm thinking about upgrading my current car when it dies and this is one of the better options on the market. Used 4WD/AWD prices in Reno are whack right now. If you're spending an arm and a leg, might as well guarantee you won't be surprised by future repair costs.

True. definitely could be worth looking into.
Been using my downtime at work and it seems to be a common issue in the pilots at my milage. Basically I can keep tossing oil in until the thing dies. So now I'm debating just throwing in the CV axle myself so I don't die when that blows on the interstate and getting some more time out of her driving around with a few bottles of oil. Might give me a little more time to figure out a new car at least for just a few Hundo.
Idk I got a lot to figure out now unfortunately. Just pissed that my car is fucked over a 25 dollar seal.

Not a terrible idea at all. Would be worth at least a call to see what I could get. Another few gs towards a down payment goes a long long way.
Also my pops is running around this weekend to the dealers in back in South Dakota to see prices there. Theoretically they will be lower, but it's gotta be low enough that it makes sense for me to drive back after Thanksgiving of Christmas. I'm gunna do the same in Denver/ eastern Wyoming too.

Look at prices over the pass too. 4WD/AWD doesn't carry the same premium in the Sacramento valley as it does in Reno. Southern California has a lot of cars in good shape with reasonable prices too. Mountain towns and snowy regions are rough when it comes to vehicle values because everyone is convinced they need AWD.
Best of luck in your search man. If you need a motor, look for same-year Honda Odysseys too. They share engines with Pilots. Odyssey transmissions are notorious for early failure. If you find a junked one, odds are the motor runs just fine. An engine transplant is a massive pain in the ass but it's certainly cheaper than a new car.
Sure am sick of line filling up my inbox with blade ads. They’re gonna have to come out with something new and graphics that don’t suck to get me back, idc if they sell skis for $200, glad I got my bacons before pollard dipped
theabortionatorHow do all these shitty ass pizza places survive? It's actually impressive. Just had some papa murphys. I see them everywhere out west. Shit isn't even good. How in the fuck can you see an uncooked pizza that might not even be better than frozen pizza and have not only 1 store but many stay in business.
Also so much pizza out west is crazy over priced and straight trash. Nothing like paying 35 for a dumpster fire pizza that couldn't step to a six dollar domino's or even a friggin lunchable.
Why the fuck are our congressman or the media talking about this crisis?
In other countries i get it but this is America. If you can't get a decent pie for a decent price then the terrorists have won.
If you've never had good pizza i feel bad for you. I'm not even fussy but the shit that passes for pizza out west and the price is just wrong. You can get good Thai food in friggin Idaho so why the fuck can't you get a decent slice anywhere. Makes a man sick. People charging all this money for something that red baron or cpk blows out of the water somehow.
Fuck investigating wall street, these are the real criminals.
I had the most criminally overpriced, terrible pizza of all time in Silverthorne. We got 2 large pizzas w/ some toppings and a cheesy bread thing and it was $95. The pizza was burnt to a crisp, like literally black on the bottom, then basically no cheese/toppings. It was bad enough that I felt the need to complain via email and the manager was actually really cool and apologetic and said we could come back in to try again for free - got the same order, was burnt to shit again lol so I won't be back but at least they tried to make it right

2 Pizzas and bread for 95? What the actual fuck?????
When I’ve stayed in summit I’ve always found pizza from Dillon and silverthorne to be expensive as fuck but not that expensive, was it weed bread or something?

HypeBeastWell this is fucked. Dude already went to jail TWICE for different intentional murders. One he cut some lady's throat. Another he choked and beat a 17 yr old. This time he stabbed a single mother to death with a screwdriver. How in the actual fuck does this happen. Imo under no circumstances should a murderer be released but they are released all the time.
Idk man, that's terrible but it seems like it's just driving the "tough on crime" sentiment. I don't like the "lock them away forever. Nobody should ever be able to get parrolled" vibe people take off of with these case.
It all depends on the case but people have gotten out of prison for gnarly crimes and gone on to lead decent lives. Idk. These things always get used for rally cries for longer prison sentences across the board.
They end up getting applied to anything and everything.
"One of the other results of Whitaker's murder was the end of parole for prisoners in Florida. Prisoners are now required to serve at least 85% of their sentence. " yup, not surprising. Idk, these cases are tough because if you don't like the tough on crime stance "You love innocent people getting murdered"

It's just the Willie Horton attack ads focusing on Michael Dukakis all over again, or if you want to go back further and make a slightly less direct comparison, Nixon's introduction of the modern drug war because he couldn't explicitly crack down on hippies and black activists. It's pretty depressing to see the pattern and how it hasn't changed much.

Rape, molestation, and murder really have no excuse. I'm not talking about involuntary manslaughter. I'm talking first degree murder, cutting someone's head off with a butter knife cuz they wouldn't fuck you type of murder. Sentencing for rape and molestation is too lenient imo. Putting huge prison sentences on those imo isn't a difficult decision, but it should stop at that. Putting someone away for life for smuggling drugs is dumb and has no influence; the purpose of putting rapists and murders away for life is so they can't be around others.
I agree %77 , rape and molestation are in forgives Lw, but murder… are there not extreme circumstances..?? But since we share a similar view on the first two, and a partial on murder here I ask…
Hypothetically, using the petito case, say her dad killed landry , and for discussion purposes, there’s no doubt in this hypothetical scenario that landry was guilty, do you think??
1-cops should just look the other way, consider “justice” served, choose to rule as a suicide
2-follow the law to a T and seek “justice” and imply the law.
Even with my opinion, I still wonder, how can we ask others to follow the law if we don’t follow them ourselves, and what will it lead to if there are cases where we decide it’s ok to turn a blind eye…
In this hypothetical, I cannot disapprove of the killing of landry, I’m more of an apply the law on a case by case basis, use reason, and the laws that “were written” in the past are to serve a society of the past, it’s time to update to a legal system that serves the society of today.

I'm thinking more of the premeditated murders (not revenge killing) and random murders just cuz someone is a psycho. That news story I posted, that guy randomly killed two women in brutal ways, and one was a teen. He never shoulda seen freedom.
But any premeditated murder could certainly hold a life sentence. Murder is a choice. We have a justice system for a reason and as likely as I would also desire to take the law into my own hands, that's the purpose of our justice system. Shit I'd have a hard time not hurting someone who killed my dog (recent threads), so I can empathize with the perspective of revenge. If you do the crime, better be ready to do the time. We have too much variability in our punishments between states for all sorts of crime and judges have way too much discretion on sentences, and murder is a weird one. Did you know, depending on your crime (of which rape is included) you can avoid extradition if you move far enough away-I shit you not. Don't kill; pretty clear rule so there's really no excuses for not letting the law do its job (unless you can prove the law wasn't getting justice). Now we are in a grey area, not to mention our justice system isn't perfect either.
You definitely have to have inclusion and exclusion criteria for specific charges. If her dad killed the bf, then yep I'm sure no one would be sad but also he's gonna get charged cuz that's not allowing due process (maybe more leniently but still charged nonetheless). Think about how many people are wrongly convicted for murder; what if he didn't do it but it just really really really looks like he did? Our standards of conviction are a bit non-uniform too.
As far as sentencing goes, our system is fucked. You can get 30 years for trafficking pot when some other guy who beat someone with a hammer gets 3 years, only to get out and go right back to prison again for another violent crime. I blame Regan and Nixon for our very fucked up sentencing laws around drugs. I blame activists for thinking all people can be reformed or want to be reformed.

Bro management has me so fucked up, I signed up for a morning shift cause I need the hours, am supposed to be the beverage guy like usual but manager came up to me and told me I had to go to the dish pit. Like wtf dude, A) if I wanted to clean dishes at 9:30 am I would have signed up for dish pit (dishes gets a pay bump but they don’t give me that when I have to “help them out” for a shift) and B) if I had known y’all would pull this crap with me I would have signed up for a different shift ffs.
told manager to pull my future shifts for this day cause I’m not doing this again. Imma just take a shift later in the day when I won’t have to deal with this crap. More work for no pay bump and they don’t respect me enough to tell me in advance, like if y’all needed dish staff then why tf would you let me sign up for other positions you pine cone.

This extends to all Chrysler (or whatever the parent company is now) vehicles. Particularly charger, challenger, 300 drivers but also jeeps and minivans.
I feel like i have been putting in so much effort toward school, not been smoking or drinking, or really doing much of anything besides school, yet my motivation and grades have been at all time lows. I will likely pass my classes but with unacceptable grades (per my scholarship). I feel like it's hard to go into office hours because i never have the assignments even started by the office hour slots due to the shear number of assignments i get. I just turned in an assignment 1/2 complete.. I'm still working on a project that was due last Sunday... I just don't know what to do to turn my grades around :(

Have u tried connecting with some resources at your university? It might help. They usually are quite good in the university setting.

Maybe not helpful for now, but take fewer classes if you can next semester. I found in college I actually learned more (and did better) with fewer classes because I could put more effort in. Idk what you are studying, but this is especially true with problem set / lab / etc. classes where there is a "right" and "wrong" answer. Another trick is to only take 1-2 "hard" classes and then some easier classes as filler. I also found taking off days where you just say no work fuck it im just gonna have fun is important. Else you just end up trying and failing to work every day. Just need to be like Friday and Saturday not gonna touch a book not gonna worry about it and then get after it Sun - Thursday.
No I havent really. The problem is there are much fewer tutors and help sessions for 400 level classes, though. I think my primary problem is time/stress management. Sometimes i cant sleep at all if I have time, other times I dont have any time to sleep. That affects my work a lot I think.

Next semester I will actually have the least ive ever had and have full Tues/Thurs off. Then I'm graduated! But i intentionally made this semester loaded so that my final one (the one during most of ski season) can be light.
Oh hell yea. Just grind it out and when you get stressed think of snow, visualize skiing, and an easy course load…

twinkle_toesWhat do you mean by a custom footbed? Is it similar to a moldable boot liner where they just heat mold it to the shape of your foot? I mean yea I can't really afford $200 footbeds right now but I have some old footbeds lying around that were fitted at the shop a few years ago. I might just throw those in and see if they help first....
Also that makes sense about sizing up for touring boots, but I went with the tighter fit with the assumption that my liners would pack out fairly quickly, and once they're broken in they'll be a lot more comfortable. I also haven't gotten the liners molded yet because apparently heat molding them makes them wear down even quicker... do you think I should get my liners molded??
Lol - yea I agree though it'd be super sick to see more female bootfitters out there for sure. Nothing against dudes, but having another chick there who understands how our bodies are different and move in different ways would definitely make a difference.
But yea thanks for taking the time to explain things!! I appreciate it. I see the cuff alignment issue with my Lange XT's from a totally different perspective now.
A custom footbed for ski boots is a full-length sports orthotic. They usually use a low-temp thermomoldable plastic or cork-oil mixture to take a mold of the foot while it is in an athletic position. Depending on the pedorothist making them or the type of material used, they will be formed using either a fully weighted (standing), semi-weighted (sitting), or an unweighted (vacuum) method.
Ski boots dont allow our feet to have a gait. we are fully static in a ski boot, and locked in a position that is totally unnatural. We need to have support. Imagine trying to do a sport like basketball or baseball without your thumb available... in a lot of ways, it is like that - perhaps not as dramatic of a change, but still. Adding support gives us back our 'thumb' if you will.
Personally, and this isnt just the bootfitter in me talking, this is the skier, they are downright imperative. I don't even think I would go skiing - or at least not for very long - if I didnt have my footbeds in my boots. I would feel sloppy, uncoordinated, out of control, and unable to make the most of it. It would be frustrating and uncomfortable and my feet would cramp and fatigue really quickly.
Without a footbed that gives you support, even if you're just touring up a hill, people tend to 'monkey-foot' (think of a monkey grasping a branch with their feet) when they dont feel like they have support under their feet. This strains EVERYTHING and, without you knowing it, you're exhausting the muscles in your feet that provide you with the ability to fine-tune your balance.
Once your feet are tired, whether they actively feel like it or not, our bodies tend to divert control of these subtle adjustments to muscles and tendons higher up on our lower limbs. Our knees and hips and thighs end up doing a lot of the work that our feet should, and in a far less efficient manner... this is more likely to put strain on areas in our joints that otherwise wouldn't be straining if we were just hiking in a set of trail runners.
If you have some footbeds that offer some arch and heel support, I would certainly throw those in your boots and see if they help, but ultimately, I would seek out a pair of fresh, perfectly balanced footbeds that will drastically improve everything.
Touring boot liners generally are really thin, and dont take much 'packing out'. So they usually wont give you much extra space than what you initially feel when you try on the boot. Even something like the Hawx XTD liner is pretty thin and lightweight. Its different than what you'd otherwise be used to with a ski boot (unless you're coming from a race boot with a really thin liner)
I generally say dont even bother molding most touring boot liners since you'll pack them out after like, one tour... I only heatmold a liner in the store if the customer is super comfort conscious and isnt likely to spend more than 4 hours skiing during a day in the first place... or whinges/complains about any pressure.
