I know there are more brown pow lovers on this site, yah there is pinkbike but lets be honest, newshcoolers is wayyyy cooler. so lets posts our rides, questions about components, mechanic questions etc in this thread.

I just bought this beauty and i definitely sacrificed uphill capabiltiy in order to get a beefier dh/park bike. id been on a nomad for a while and it's a huge switch in riding styles for me. definitely getting used to the weight and having to keep speed a lot more.

specs for said beauty, 2011 rc2 dh totem, 2012 dhx rc4, highrollers front and back (gona go dhf front and highroller in the back), mtx 33 wheel set, slx brakes, diablous cranks, FSA 760mm Handlebar, Shimano SLX Shifter & Shimano Deore XT Derailleur.

If you do, don’t skip southeast. Northeast up where all the good skiing has great riding at highland, Burke, killington etc.

Down south is where im from
don’t miss snowshoe bike park, windrock, and make sure to get to the western NC area and ride Pisgah and kanuga park

Snowmass has some great tech trails. They've been opening 2-3 new trails every year and most lately have been tech trails.

Reverb seat posts are kinda shit tbh, mine is squishy as fuck and always feels like it sinks a bit when I sit on it, and has that cursed side to side play. all my homies who have had a reverb say the same too

I don't think I've ever ridden a seatpost that didn't have lateral play. I've been told that too an extent, that's a safety feature to protect it from too much torque

I had a dream last night that Bozeman actually gave a fuck about dirt jumps and used the counties tax revenue from legal weed to build a sick DJ park and it had sprinklers and regular maintenance and good progression, creativity, and variety and there was a hot dog stand. But I kept flatting my tire and every shop in town was still out of stock of tubes

Fuckkkk i was trying a high line on some off camber stuff today and i slid down and caught my pedal on a tree at about 15 mph. Pedal is bent or something now but whatever i do i can’t remove it from the cranks

May could likely still be mud season, and mud is murder around here. If we get a lot of warm weather in the next few weeks Leverich (most popular trail in Bozeman), and maaaaybe the west facing side of the Bridgers (Sypes, Corbly, maybe Truman) could be good to go. But if it's still muddy its worth the drive to go out to Three Forks and ride Copper City.

Also Lewis and Clark Caverns is pretty popular for early season riding, haven't been there myself but I plan on going out for a dig day with the local MTB association this weekend.

No Quarter has the best advice then, but I’ll say Truman is a no go. Took until May 10 to get the trail dry about 2 miles in and then it was covered in mud and snow.

got it out but i think the impact messed with the threads so i think the pedals fine but i’ll either need to get the cranks rethreaded or just get a new crank arm, either was it’s an expensive i didn’t need :(

I hate boomer ass mtb associations why y’all gotta build shitty flat trails for Kevin and his wife Karen with their 9k stumpys or tall boys. Ughhh sustainable trails. Trails aren’t sustainable built by a fucking logging crew and then machines. It’s not a trail when it’s as wide as a road. Also knocking down the lips at the bike park so people can roll over the big tables is lame af and ya’ll still cant seem to get breaking bumps out of berms with crews of 20 40yearolds. Meanwhile me and my friend can in 20minutes with 2 shovels and a watering can

Lewis and Clark is fine. I would not drive from Bozeman to there just to ride there though. Burnt an afternoon there last year on the way to Butte. Didn't seem like there was more than a half day's worth of riding. Butte has a fair amount of interesting riding that should be dry by them, the CDT stuff probably won't be in, but there's a bunch of lower stuff that's always riding early.

At least in my hometown the local advocacy group is amazing, does some solid trail work and stuff. The problem is the government run basically communist trail thingy called ridge to Rivers they are trash and make horrible trails

I love trail clones but twinkbike was better. It’s kinda sad tho how this is the attitude of people in mtb around a lot of places. I find around my area it’s rly taming down mountain biking.

facts. honestly though, its a shame, though I feel like my area is the opposite, people are finally coming around to bigger and beefier trails as we've had a couple new tech and jump systems built in the past 5 years. and even one of our classic XC nerd areas has been renovated to make it more "sendable"

2 calipers on one lever, it is weird, and it has my attention, seems a little sketchy to get used to though cuz I can see myself accidentally launching myself OTB

I do wanna know about 4pods too but I am just gonna watch some youtube videos probably

They were created for those who only have use of one hand, amputees and such. I’d assume they have the same level of performance as any other hope brake
