theabortionatorWhat's the deal with the delay on posts showing up? Sometimes like 5 minutes. It says there's a post but nothing when you click the thread then all of the sudden it's there a few min later.

I don't know if this has been addressed elsewhere, but the poll that is on tons of threads thing now is stupid. The entire point of a forum is to encourage discussion, not to simply put everything in terms of a popular opinion poll. This just quashes discussion and, lets face it, most people are idiots so who cares what the majority thinks. That just leads to a sort of bland groupthink mentality, like when fox news references its own polls to reinforce their reporting.

When I'm looking at my threads, and I try to go to page two, it doesn't load any threads, but page 1 is fine.

Only hinting to the fact that video ads seem to be overpowering most video content, I get why ads are important and necessary, I just sometimes reach a point where I get discouraged from watching content because I don't want to have to wait for an ad for EVERY video, other members probably have the same issue of being pulled away from content.

Tldr: there is a balance between content interaction and ads, currently the ads are taking away from member content interaction. Or at least that's how I see it.... Hell, I couldn't run this site.

Yeah I know this fact. Its a really hard balance on our end too because ads generate revenue and without revenue site goes away.

What I can tell you is we have screwed up this balance in the past, and we're still basically living through what happened this season. We had immense demand for video advertising, and sold a lot of it... which is great for the site but its a little much right now.

Next season we'll do a better job of enforcing a more balanced approach where we can get a better viewing experience that isn't totally lambasted with ads.

regardless of the ads, will Youtube videos always be blacked out before playing them with the new format? It's really frustrating not knowing what video it is before clicking play, I've come to just ignore videos all together now.

This thread it too long and I haven't read the whole thing so I agologize ahead of time if this has already been addressed.

Everytime I try to up/down vote a post it says "you must be logged in" to do this. I am logged in. I am backing this post now. I still can't up/down vote posts.

Maybe it has something to do with being on my work computer and going through a secure VPN? Whatever it is, I didn't have this problem before.

I know bishop has already said it needs fixing, but maybe pull the black bar down a little bit so we can atleast see the title until that happens? No idea how hard/easy that would be to do

BWalmerKinda minor, but an annoyance to me, on an iPad (mini if it makes a difference) there's no more link back to my profile (that I can find). It's next to "inbox" on an iPhone, but not there on an iPad.

*CUMMINGS*Now the cult paging problem is fixed, but when I go to a cult thread and then back to my threads of mobile, I keep getting logged out.


Is this still happening? We can't replicate it, so need more information if it is still happening to you.

OK, we pushed through a fix that *should* have addressed this. I need everyone to look out for it and let me know if you still see it or if you are just remembering it happening.

I simply tried copy/pasting the URL and that didn't work. I need "Newschoolers for Dumbies" haha

You just put the URL between [ video ](url here)[ / video ] (just take out all the spaces). You can only use urls from list of the supported sites in the note above the reply box.

Ive actually gotten used to the new layout pretty quickly and I like it now. I still think the title background should be a darker colour/more interesting design.

Something I thought of just to clean up mobile. Underneath the bar where I can navigate to my profile is the "path" to where I am. >>Forum>>Site Discussion>>Forum Layout Change?>>Reply Thread

Is this really needed? It just kind of clutters up the top of the page. There's already a forums button at the top so if I wanted to go all the way back for the forums list I can just hit that. I liked before the update where it just said Back to Thread Listing and while in the reply page Back to Thread. It was clean and out of the way. The only real use for the current "path" is if someone decides not to reply to someone and wants to go all the way back the thread listings.

Not a huge deal but I just thought it would clean up the upper portion of mobile pages.

Make the rating of the comment either green, white or red.

Green for comments with a positive rating, white for a comment with a 0 rating, and red for comments with a negative rating.

So thoughts after using it for a while:

1- It's awesome!

2- the only thing that continually nags at me is not having a timestamp in the quotes for when that original post was made.

Still having problems viewing posts when the thread listings show posts have been made. Usually takes 2-3 mins for the post to show when I click the thread.
