Sorry Chaunceyskis, I couldn't wait to make the thread.

Post up videos of your favorite pros killing it, pics of some sick spots in your town, or videos of you landing a new trick, ask about tricks, give advice on tricks, discuss/review skates, and discuss the latest news in the world of aggressive skating!

Eventually, we could even use this thread for buying, selling, and trading parts or full skates.



First off, what are your thoughts on the beginning of powerblading? Kizer has just brought the concept into play in the aggressive rollerblading game with their new frames able to hold 4 80mm wheels while still allowing soul and negative plate grinds. Check the fourth and fifth edit for some powerblading shots.

Second, there is a lot of good advice on what type of skates suit you in this thread, as well as where to buy full skates/parts,(https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/forums/readthread/thread_id/615627/), all courtesy of a_pla5tic_bag

I have the g9's and genesys 7.4s. Both are great, but the G9 is way more comfortable

xsjados look so... flimsy....

if i ever get a pair it'd be for powerblading, i'd feel too exposed doing anything with them

^ if you totaly crank the top straps down they can be pretty supportive... but once you skate them for a while and get more used to the flex....it grows on you

honestly i'd be just fine with almost no support from skates. carbons don't have much support, my CH1's certainly didn't. I don't buckle the carbons too tight either.

genesys series is good from razors all are 200 at rollerwarehouse. don't buy anything too much cheaper or you'll need new one by next season. Remz haffey pro model skates well too. I think its 220 at rollerwarehouse

I just want to jump in on this thread.
I bought wicked shitty TRS skates back when I was like 14, used them once and hated it, and never tried it again. My feet haven't grown since then though so about 2 weeks ago I pulled them out and started skating and I love it. I've just been skating around my driveway and I'm pretty bad though. I can just 3 and stuff now, and I went to the skatepark for the first time yesterday.
I ate shit probably... 30 times? It felt so much different.
What grinds would you guys recommend I try? Because when I went yesterday I just tried (i guess a frontside grind?) just what a normal frontside would feel like on skis, and I would hop onto the rail, slide about 2 feet, then my center wheels would stick and I'd flip off and land on the rail...down the rail. Haha, it hurt pretty bad, and I'm pretty sore today. I didn't have any wax on me so could it be that the rail just needed wax? Could I just be leaning wrong while I'm on the rail or something? It just feels really different, compared to say.. skiing. Haha

ounds like your using a flat setup. Use antirocker or freestyle framse. Sould grinds, acids, and backslide or royales are all fairly easy. seriuosly invest in some different frames

Honestly, if I continue to skate i'll probably just buy new skates all together. After using these for like 30 minutes my feet kill. My feet are all bruised up from them too.

Yes to the frames.

Try learning basic Soul* grinds. Soul, mizzu, acid, pornstar (lol). Front side/backside grinds arnt really that cool unless you make it into a full torque (also called farve) or a royal.

Then try them to fakie, ally-oop, or topside.

what modifications do you recommend?  I've had my TV.2's nearing 2 years, never changed anything (apart from wheels) and i know they're fucking heavy and a lil bit clunky...

Guess this is as good a place as any to put this, just started skating again a couple weeks ago on the new skates and I'm definitely hooked. Threw together this edit today on the shitty little 5ft rail in my driveway haha, stoked.

I understand the skating is uhh.. "sub-par" but it was more editing practice than anything
Should be in HD too.. but vimeo seems to be messin up

Im SOOO confused about what frame to get. Its between anti rocker and freestyle..

I dont know what would resemble skiing kind of railing, when it comes to antirocker/freestyle

i don't think an illusion is a grind, i can do illusion 180's into grinds. First I spin left with just the lower half of my body, only like 90 degrees, then before landing in a grind you spin 180 o the right. darkside is topside negative i think. I can't do those.

a dark grind is when you hop over the feature (say a box) and soul the far/dark side of it. it would be like approaching for a topside but instead you hop over to just do a normal soul on the farside of the box

I think an illusion just means that both people can do teh same trick whatever direction their most comfortable with which is why after stockwell called they both came in to the same feature two different ways.

illusion is typically for fakie tricks where you look over one shoulder as you approach but spin over the other

to allen, if there were a single decent feature around me to do switchups on i would do those

A kid I used to skate with could lock ally-oop top citric acid grinds on coping.

for me eulogies are hit or miss. you may get a batch which are great, but i have aldo gotten terriblr batches which have decored (all of them) in 3 sessions. i highly reccomend the UC eislers

Question, new bearings: So I have these Richie Eisler 2011 wheels that I really wont to test out now but I don't have extra bearings, therefore I was wondering what the different between skateboard bearings and "agressive" bearings is? I have seen on some bearings where it stands that they are made for agressive inline but I probably just end up buying some cheep ones at my local skate shop.
BTW: I am pretty much a beginner so I am not going to drop some big stars or something..

M1 makes the least durable wheels. I had the misfortune of winning 3 sets of M1 wheels a few years back and I hated every set. They each lasted me like 2 weeks then they de-cored like a muh fucka.

I have never had any problems with eulogy wheels i just usually get the largest size with the hardest urethane and they last for quite some time.
