So i have a boot on my car

I decided instead of paying my $400 of parking fines i will simply remove my tire and put on the spare.

yea thats going to be a big FUCK YOU to public safety when they realize their booted car is gone. i will then precede to Home Depot and rent a saw for an hour for about 40 bucks and cut the boot off. I will then place the boot back where my car was booted.

i already said that i don't have to pay the parking fines because I'm leaving my car at my buddies house. I didn't need to pay the fines because I cut the boot off myself. I don't need to pay the fines unless I buy a parking pass which I'm not.

I had to pay 175$ for the destruction of the boot. I do not have to pay any other costs unless i wish to register my car on campus. seeing as i'm a senior and I have 10 weeks left of school i will never register my car on campus, thus i do not have to pay the $400.

Because my car is not registered with the school i can still graduate although I never paid the parking tickets. I beat the system, sort of

You don't seem to understand. They have your license plate number and most likely your vin number too. They CAN track you down and they WILL. I get letters every other month from my school because I have unpaid parking tickets. My buddy got a ticket on his scooter on campus, he didn't have it registered with the school or even with the state under his name. The guy who had registered it last got a letter in the mail with a bill for the parking ticket, because they tracked down his address using the plate number. As much as you "think" you are in the clear, it will come back to you eventually and could effect your credit. But yeah, going along acting like everything is okay and you will never hear about this again is the correct thing to do...

Im sure they will have a record of what the plates used to be. There is no way to beat the system bud. If it was that easy, a lot more people would be doing it.....

When my friend was 18 he had a boot put on his car-- the officer did not put it on correctly, so he simply took it off and threw it in the back of his truck and drove off. He was pulled over a week later and arrested for stealing the boot.

Fast forward 5 years and he was up for a good job at Boeing, but couldn't pass the security clearance test because he had the stolen boot on his record so he couldn't get the job.

Don't steal the boot.

This doesn't make any sense. Why, exactly, do you not need to pay the fines? You were pulled over, they know who you are and they have your plates. They'll tack them onto your student record. You'll either need to pay them come tuition time, pay them to get your diploma, or they'll send you a letter stating you have to pay them or you'll go to collections.

If for some reason you really end up not having to pay the fines, your school should lose it's accreditation for being made up of the least intelligent people on earth.

Not every school is the same... the public safety at mine just tacks it on to the tuition bill but I've gotten 3 that haven't shown up yet, you're right that you MAY have to pay somehow but not every public safety department is going to send agencies to track you down.

The guy had a meeting with Public Safety and it seems as though they told him that paying $175 for the boot was the only fine. I think some people are a tad jealous that OP successfully avoided paying $225 in fines...

by $225 you mean more like $410... I had 9 tickets

2 were 100 and the rest were $30


so yea i don't have pics and its not really visible on teh gopro so you'l have to take my word for this thread. it's not something i would just make up.


moral of the story, if you go to school you can fuck with P safety and get away with it

since this thread got bumped i guess i'll add my two cents.

a few weeks ago i got a boot put on my car and i just went to public safety immediately and talked to them about it. being polite got $400+ in parking tickets reduced to $125 and they went out and removed the boot right then. while this is a cool story you made it way more difficult for yourself
