Apollo Zero: Did man really make it to the moon?

Good day newschoolers!

I know all of us here have an opinion about almost EVERYTHING, and we're good at getting into heated discussions. Here's your chance.

It's an hour long, but its probably one of the more interesting hours you're going to experience in your life.

Now I'm super proud of the human race for doing all the shit we've done, including the moon missions, but this documentary made it impossible for me to believe they actually happened. There is enough conclusive evidence to prove that it is almost impossible to get to the moon - let alone get to the moon in the late 60's early 70's. I'm usually not a skeptic, but this movie turned me into one.

I'm not even going to bother watching it, because literally every review of it that I've found says "a 1 minute search on wikipedia disproves this entire movie."


And i've posted paragraphs on here before about why we did land on the moon. I'm not going to do it again right now.

Didn't watch it, but I saw a documentary on netflix that showed that the footage of the moon landing was pretty fuckin weak, and the astronauts were waiving the flag to give the impression of wind.

right here. if it was faked, one of the thousands of geologists and other scientists who worked with samples brought back would have said "hey! this matches the rocks found in so and so part of the Earth"

Ouch.

I just think the evidence makes sense. The distance to the moon is 225000 miles. Since the moon missions, the farthest distance we've gone into space has been between 200-400 miles above the earth. That's a minuscule number.

Going to the moon is like circling the earth 30 times. Imagine carrying that much fuel? Impossible.

im sorry but you are real dumb. Once out of the atmosphere velocity is sustained therefor no need for more fuel. Also the reason we only orbit 400 miles out is because there is no need to go further, not because we can't.

We haven't gone that far or further yet in manned spacecraft because there is nothing worth going to at that distance other than the moon. We will eventually get to mars.

And they didn't need fuel to get all the way there. Could be wrong but I'm pretty sure most long distance space flight missions make use of Newton's first law, an objects velocity won't change unless its acted upon by an external force. And there are no external forces like wind resistance in space, so once something gets going it can go forever. The Voyager II was launched 34 years ago. It made it to neptune in 1989.

we havent gone back because its expensive because its very difficult. we have only had people orbiting the earth recently because its the closest (i.e. least expensive) outer space available and its more practical for researching earth-related studies. and you dont need fuel once you leave the atmosphere because there is no resistance. so read up on this stuff before you post because it gives me brain damage to read.

we haven't been that far since because aside from going to the moon, there's literally no reason for it. And we've actually sent a bunch of probes and things much further, but of course that gets ignored. If you go out from earth in 1 direction forever, odds are you will never hit anything for all eternity. So why go through the hassle of going 10,000 miles out when all we need is a few hundred for what we need to do?


And traveling to the moon wasn't as intensive regarding fuel as you'd think. They'd go up in the Saturn V burning most of the fuel, then orbit the earth a few times while getting arranged, then do a TLI (trans-lunar injection) burn. It lasted a few minutes and sent them out of earth orbit, on track towards the moon. Then they'd coast until they did another burn to slow down into lunar orbit. On the way home they'd do a TLE burn...and coast until they got back to earth.

chances are If you are an astronaut you are smart enough to not completely believe the whole religion thing.

oh and please stop. Go read some fucking science books, and realize that space travel is not all that hard to manage with our current and past technology.

The thing about our generation is that everyone makes math and science to be "lame" and "too hard." Compared to other things people are working on now in science, going to the moon is a joke.

it's so far travelled 14,000,000,000 km and counting. going 225,000 miles is absolutely peanuts and is incredibly doable. So going to the moon? yes, very possible.

And as was said before, there's absolutely no disputing the fact that samples were brought back from the missions. Kind of impossible to bring back samples from a mission if they never actually went there.

And also the fact that with the proper instruments one can actually see the footprints, flag, and everything else left on the moon.

I decided to watch the first 11 minutes of it. It was amateur at best and the first two "facts" were nothing more than failure to do enough research on gravitational slingshots and interpreting a statement (Bill Clinton's) as something else. Despite these two blatant mistakes within the first 7 minutes I decided to keep watching, I have to admit the Van Allen Radiation belts did raise some interesting questions over their lethality of a space crew to pass through them. However I do not know enough about these radiation belts to disprove their argument.

MY GRAND PARENTS USED TO OWN A COTTAGE IN THE BAHAMAS. bout 2 minutes into the movie and its bullshit. The Clinton quote is actually clinton talking about how the media can twist things... He was not wondering about the authenticity of the missions, they were just a random anecdote with the main point being that the media can twist things. The narrators reading comprehension sucks.


This movie sucks.
