Titus69Something about this vacation crowd in park city is full of absolute cunts
BigPurpleSkiSuitAt deer valley same
DeebieSkeebiesIdk i kinda get joy knowing half their ski vacations were ruined due to crowds and terrain closures. Fuck anyone who books a trip during the busiest times of year. You deserve nothing
Titus69I have no sympathy right now, over people bitching and not listening to who they know probably knows more than them if they’re struggling with putting boots on. If you’re an actual human who can have patience and listen I’ll actually enjoy helping you but walking through the line asking for rentals like you own the store is gonna give you garbage service.
DeebieSkeebiesStay strong and level-headed homie. Bite the bullet and just know that even if theyre assholes, its allowing you to pay your bills so that you can go up to Alta on a wednesday during a sick storm cycle while theyre back home in Ohio wishing they were there. It sucks but at some point you just gotta drop the friendly guy shtick and just look at everyone as a dollar sign. Always think about that light at the end of the tunnel.
Expected crowds but didn't expect this many people to come out for some real dense borderline sunbaked hotpow. Whatever. Ill take walk-on jupe laps when its actually sick vs. 45 min waits for sunbaked windbuff.

Titus69Yeah I mean people don’t really understand this whole weather thing, if they see it’s snowing they start losing it and it’s just powder panic, and this crowd I just really don’t know where it came from. There comes a point when it’s 1030 but feels like it should be 4 and you still have people coming in every minute saying “do you guys do rentals?” I give them good service but will be stern and crush their dreams if they’re being high maintenance, we’re not deer valley go there to have your ass wiped personally.

BigPurpleSkiSuitHoly shit Deer Valley has absolutely nothing on snowbird
DeebieSkeebiesi think glen plake said it once but its like a golf course tilted on its side lmao, definitely not a skiers resort. more lucrative of a place if youre rich or own property there or both. always used to kinda chuckle at homeowners bragging about first tracks down empire bowl, but it was decent free skiing for being an employee there myself. cant complain about upper mountain parking privileges.

Titus69I still wanna ski a deep ass day there, that’s if park city ever gets over a foot from a storm this season. I imagine it’s like skiing pc on a pow day, except nobody there, besides when lcc closes for two days.
DeebieSkeebiesi spent like 4 years tracking that place out every morning before work. I used to work near upper mountain so nabbing first chair on something decent was easy. I cant complain honestly. Pure country club skiing on some mornings. Steep enough terrain but nothing major. There's some stuff in Daly Chutes that could be ski-able but never really fills in nor would it ever be open under Deer Valley Patrol standards.
And for some reason every time ive been there with my parents this season, ive found a ton of wicked fun sidebooters
BigPurpleSkiSuitDeer Valley face
Titus69Tbh if I didn’t know you or understand all of Utah’s chill ski culture except at DV I’d be annoyed by this, however I’m willing to bet he was on demos and he bought that smith helmet and squads together cause it was cheap but decent. I’ve seen too much I may be stereotyping lol, kinda easy to tell Jerry’s from somewhat decent skiers after just two seasons in pc working in rentals.
BigPurpleSkiSuitSo I was taking a video of the ticket line to show the friend I was meeting up there and noticed him in it.

DeebieSkeebiesI like how the skiing was significantly better than yesterday and there wasnt a single line we had to wait in at all today. Super weird the ebbs and flows of powder panic.
Titus69Assumed today would be a fucking zoo, was surprised to be bored at work today.
safarisamDuel sledding is so goddamn hard
OregonDeadwhat sort of sledding duel are we talking about? I am most familiar with the snowracer GT duel. Also, the dual snowracer GT duel where each driver has rider/ gunner on the back and ultimately your gunner tries to jump from your snowracer and tackle the other snowracer driver to cause a crash
safarisamWhat that sounds fun.
no, one person one each side of the snowmobile, steering and counterweighting etc. except the further in we got the spookier the snow got and it got real scary at the end.
OregonDeadoh wow. that sounds super fun but also super dangerous since snowmobiles are pretty heavy and crazy fast
hopefully this was in a wide open place but I am imagining something more like a crazy luge through the woods
safarisamIt wasnt too fast. We could only go 30/40 mph because it’s kinda hard with two people and i haven’t done duel like that before. It was more like a luge track, not an open space. We stopped to eat snack, game plan and then get the fuck out of there. Though, we did brap in an open meadow, and even that was scary.

cozycocongrats then...I guess?
