DeebieSkeebiesthe venue was skiing fine, it was blowing across the peak and towards the afternoon got a bit worse but people were hanging in there just so we could get the final heat done. We didn't like how all this info was found out in a matter of minutes as opposed to a heads up earlier in the day but oh well, still a great weekend regardless. There's some really great programs throughout the west from all over that have great skiers.

CaptainObvious.Being hungover at a big boy job isn’t fun. It’s been a long time since I’ve done this.

No.QuarterOne of my roommate's friends was over at our house and was admiring one of my sculptures recently and told her that's what she wanted for her birthday. So my roommate asked me if she could commission an original from me to give to her and me being the yes man that I immediately told her sure yeah no problem. The thing is though I've never sold any of my art and haven't the slightest clue what to charge. Additionally the one that she liked the most is pretty intricate and incorporates a deer vertebrae that I scavenged and have a very limited stash of for future sculptures. When I think back on it I probably put around 40 hours into this sculpture over the course of a few months. I can do more simple things in my style without animal bones in 5-10 hours if I focus including getting it to a finished state that I would be satisfied presenting outside of my personal collection, but the bone ones are the ones that capture the most interest whenever people come to my home. Like I do want my art to be appreciated by others but contrarily I am really self conscious about showing people a lot of my stuff, also this is kinda selfish, but I wouldn't want to make an original that I'm really proud of and then just give it away to someone I have no emotional connection to.
So strange how wonderful it is to puke out a stream of consciousness into a random thread on a ski forum of all places.
PeppermillRenoIs she hot?
I know a chick who traded art work and sex for 2 dope ass King Charles spaniels to a breeder. She’s not hot either. Those dogs would cost over 10k.
Without being creepy I’d try and work something else into the deal. It will result in a better art piece anyways.

Roommate is hot, friend is hot, can't try to fuck roommate, friend does not live in the state
Never tried to do any sculpture of the female form, maybe I just need a model...

MinggGot the retainer removed today. Turns out it masked my lisp for almost 10 years. Fuckkkkk
CaptainObvious. Can we expect an IG story exposing your lithp?
MinggNope. I’ll never speak again. 😂
DeebieSkeebiesYeah...needing a refresh real bad. Things are getting near bulletproof and its colder than a motherfucker out. Still fast and fun though.
Titus69For real it was so weird out in grizzly today.
the one zone we skied on our course today was like 3” on top of some weird almost sticky feeling crust, only skied a mellow north face but south didn’t look much better, hopefully this next storm is good but won’t be on top of a nice layer for heavy snow.
Dug a pit not really to the ground but enough to see our snowpack humans can affect, no major red flags for our snowpack right now, was surprised to see all the tests on show no propagation, holy shit though I’ve learned I need to improve my beacon rescue skills, definitely worth taking time before or after tours.
DeebieSkeebiesHyped on some fresh turns but more hyped that lines and landings will be filled back in. Things are getting real peppery out there. Next storm system on the ballot looks pretty solid, at least 3-4 days of snow and probably will overproduce. Its a bit warmer and is packing more moisture.
You should run some mock beacon/rescue drills with friends. Theyre good learning experiences and while my skills need serious improvement, its good to get involved. Canyons' beacon practice area is really good and we do our drills sometimes off of Scotts Bowl.

No.QuarterMy best ski buddy, the one who most closely matches my skill, I trust the most, who I can heckle, who pushes me and I push him, who will race me up hikes, has been bailing on me all season for schoolwork and his girlfriend. So I've spent about half of my ski days ripping the liftlines and familiar stuff by myself because I don't have a buddy to go into gnarlier terrain with, and the other half with people I don't know as well, don't push me to ski harder, can't heckle without coming off as a dick, and can't have as deep of conversations with on the chairlift. Fuck being a weekend warrior, and fuck trying to maintain adult friendships.
oldmanskiI can relate to this. I had to move away due to job reasons so I left behind all my ski buddies and being where I am, I have met a few people but no one that is quite like a ski homie from back home. Keep pushing yourself and charging, you will get your buddy back or find a new homie. If I need to, I will come over and ride Bridger with you!lol
