Hey
People have post stuff about shit they saw on the lift in threads, but there is no thread for it all. So here it is. Post your lift stories, it can be anything at all. Heres mine.

I was going up the lift during night sking and it was dead silent because it was a pretty crappy night and no one was around. So I was sitting there by myself when all of a sudden I heard what soounded like a gun shot. I almost shat my pants. Turns out it was a tree that had been iced up by a snow gun and it couldn't take it anymore so it commited tree suicide and cracked off. Pretty cool.

Another time my friends and I were about to get on the lift and this guy flies by us and gets on the lift we were getting on. We didn't care and stopped and got the next one. So half way up the hill he lifts up the saftey bar thing and hurls himself off of the chair. He landed on his side and snapped a ski in the process. Then he picked it up and tried to ski off, but ski patrol caught time.

And there were a bunch of times when people have dropped shit off the lift of double ejected their skis some way, but thats really not a story.

Uhhhhh, I saw a guy doing what appeared to be rubbing one out on the lift. It as night skiing and I and a few buddies were in the trees just illin and whammy!

well when i was going up the lift this one time there was this little kid doing the Nastar race course (for those of you that don know Nastar is a little race course set up that tourists can pay like 15 dollars and do a timed race). So at the bottom the little kid didnt know where to go and there is these little triangular pads that are about 1.5 to 2 feet tall. The kid hits the pad, double ejects, and does pretty much a full front flip while traveling like 15 feet! it was one of the funiest things i have ever seen!

first of all there was this guy pissng us of the whole time. finally when we got in the lift the man somehow just stood right under the lift, because he waited for someone. one of my buddis just spat at the guys shaved head. so funny

one time on was on the lift with this dad and his little daughter and when we lifted the bar up she scooted forward and fuckin flew off.. it was a good 15-20 foot drop... my dad got off the lift before me and he saw it happen and skied down to the girl so fuckin fast.. the ski patrol were there pretty quickly, it was so sketchy

I was at okemo this past winter going up northstar express, and i was singles wiht 3 of my buddies. Well, my first friend got on the chair with a family, an adult and two little kids. I was two or three chairs behind them. Well, we were going over that frozen creek part of lift, and the kid is sliding out. I notice, and i was like "oh shit... is that kid dangling from the lift?" And, he was. He was being held by his hand with about a 30 foot drop onto a frozen river with rocks and shit underneath. My friend in singles was next to him and was trying to hold on to him as best he could, but eventually the kid slipped out of his grip and the other adults grip. The kid fell a good 25 feet onto a frozen river, and i honestly thought he was dead. His leg was bent all funny, his helmet had popped off and was just lying there not moving. I was about to shit my pants, and ski patrol flew down there in like 2 seconds. It turned out he didnt die, but broke some ribs and his leg. It was fuckin scary, i thought for sure i had seen somebody die.

my sister was getting off the lift once and she forgot about the saftey bar so once the chair was about 8ft in the air she decided to jump it was really funny.

some gaper in a neon one piece yelled at us for throwing mayonase at people and said he would take our passes, he had a day pass on and acted like he was ski patrol, we just told him to fuck off and rode away

I was just a wee little skier about 6 yrs old. I was in the middle of a triple with my dad (180lbs) and his friend (around the same weight). Since they are taller they got off first because their skis reached the unload first so when their weight was released from the chair the chair bounced up and I couldnt get off and it flung around and I was on edge and it threw my off and I landed face first on some ice. I cried

so at my mtn. (mountain creek, NJ) one of the lifts goes over a parking lot. So before i got on the lift my friend and i grabbed snow balls and wen we got to he parking lot ther was one car directly below us. so my friend dropped his and missed (i dnt know how) and then i took mine and chucked it straght down and it hit the window sheild and made a big noise. and we thought no one was in the car and then some 25 year old gets out and starts screaming at us and yelling saying tht hes guna meet us at the top of the lift and beat the shit outa us. so wer like freaking out cuz wer only like 12. so yea, he ddnt beat the shit out of us tho

how is that hard to believe when i raced i saw a gatebuster a gatebuster 5-6 years old fell off the chair when the bar whent up he was fine and it was like a 13 foot drop

Canyon in Red Deer has horses in the summer, so there is random hitching poles (two fence posts with a flat bar between them) all over the place. One is on a knoll that the chair goes directly over at its lowest point and a friend in the chair in front of me thought it would be fun to jump off the chair there. He jumped, but this snowboard caught the flat pole and he whipped over onto his face and arm onto the hard ass snow. Broke an arm and severly bruised his ego. Pretty funny once i knew he hadn't broken his neck :D

Me and my friend hooked are poles together at wachusett, on that lift in between the terrain park and the summit its a really slow one, and we danggled them down and some old guy came and took one and said he was going to give my pole to ski pratol and said i could pick it up there, so i had to buy knew poles or get my pass taken away.

so saw some guy that was so gone, skiin on a closed trail with like an inch of base, falls off a little cliff pops out of both skis and rolls like 30 ft down. then when were laughing at him he flips out on us and says "do u want me to tell ur mom" and also calls a kid in a GS suit a "swiss cheese spider man"

this is not a racist comment it was just really funny that it happened to a japanese tourist when i was riding up the chair at big white there was a group of about 5 japanese tourists from the college in vancouver im guessing and they were all hitting this little trail beside the chair and the last guy to go by my chair hit about a 3 ft powder jump and biffed it on the landing, me and friends are laughing but we se him getting up and the whole top sheet or top layer of his board ripped of from the binding back to the tail, i dont know how its possible but it was the funniest thing i ever saw from the chair

a few years ago i was skiing with some friends at sugarbush vt and we were riding up the chair and we see some tourist (the kind who go skiing in jeans and a wool sweater) fall but not only did he fall his boot liner stayed on his foot but the boot and ski kept going down the hill carving better turns than the guy ever could have if he was still wearing it i think ski patrol stopped it but if it hit some body it probably woulda killed the poor bastard

me and three buddies were on a quad. One of my buddies thinks he is funny and turns around and winks at the girls on the lift behind us and makes stupid faces at them. We were getting really close and he kind of turned again to look at them. We got to the ramp and his board caught right on the front edge and he got pulled off the chair face down on the flat part of the exit ramp. they had to stop the lift and untangle him. The girls were 10 feet behind just sitting on their chair dying laughing

we were on the lift at hollimont and my friend taylor liked this one girl so we got on the lift with her and he's tryna act like a badass and be all sweet in fron of her and as we take off his ski got caught in the snow, he slid under the safety bar and just face planted it was the funniest thing in the world

it was me, my mom, her freinds and some of my friends... but i decided to ride up w/ my mom and her friend..so im in the middle of the tripple chair about ready to get on when my moms freind like pushes my back trying to stedy herself and i go foward so when the chairlift swings around it hits me in the head(this was b4 i started wearin a helmet) and made me black out for a second..pretty funny after i got over the headace

So I was goin up the JH tram with my uncle mom and dad and all the sudden this fat old guy, like on of the rich guys that stays at the four season at the base doesnt know how to ski to well, but can make it down, ripps the loadest smelliest fart i have ever heard, i was laughing my ass off but my mom looked like she was gunna puke.

Another time at Solitude I have no clue what the name of the lift is, put its the double that takes you to the summit, wait maybe it was the double up to cathrines area in Alta, either way, I get on the first chair with my friend, that left my other friend who was a single and he forgot about the big metal bar going down the middle of the lift, well he went to sit in the middle of the chair WHAP the pole took him out so funny because its not a detachable chair, so it wasnt going slow, the lift took him off gaud, soooooo funny

my and my friends jump off lifts when they arent too high, like 10-15 feet off the ground, weve done it at snowbird on gad 2 and off dickey at wolf creek, near the top, everyone always gives up propes for it, cuz they think its balzy but its not that tall...

anyways, when i was like 8 my cuz, my bro and my dad were all on gadzoom at the bird and you know how when you get on the lift, some people put their poles under their legs, well i tried this for teh first time  and when it came time to get off, i couldnt get the pole out from under my leg cuz it was stuckbehind the backrest somehow and i ended up going like 3/4 the way around trying to get off with poles under my leg and i just ended up falling off , bending my poles and ripped the crotch of my pants : (...needless to say, i never put my poles under my leg anymore

me and a friend pretended we were asleep one time on the diuble at corinthia at mountsnow. but we forgot to put the bar up. so when we got the unload the footrest slammed into the little wooden thingy and bounced the chair backwards. it made a super loud noise and we just threw the bar up as the chair bounced back and scooted ASAP. it was funny

one time i was gettin cocked and i decided to go night skiing at wachussett. well i wasnt done drinking so i brought a couple brews with me :) well i go to get on the first lift and i was soo pissy drunk i forgot to get off. i just kept drinkin and when i came back down the dude tried to take the beer from me while it was still moving. i wasnt letting him get the beer that easy. I pulled me right off the fuckin thing. i then proceeded to get up and spit beer in his face and ski away. I think it was malone.

me and a few friends were on the gondola at stowe, and this guy, who kinda seemed like a tool, was "flirting" with this girl on the gondola, so the whole way they were talking about some random shit like the bars in town and stuff, then right before we get off the guy asks the girl for her number and she says she has a boyfriend he got owned and it was soo funny

Once I was on a Triple with two of my friends and we were looking at this young Chinese kid (maybe 10 years old, thinks he's the shizit) and his mom on the terrain park. All of a sudden the mom starts going down the run-up to a jump and the kid screams "no mama don't take it!!". The Mom then turns away from the jump but since the kid was only paying attention to his mom he started to go fast at another jump. The kid freaking flys straight up of the lip and lands right on his back. He must have been 12 feet in the air. Funniest thing in my life.

ok so i was on a trip to squaw with a few of my friends. we were skiing the smallish park on the right of this small 2 person chairlift with no safety bars or w/e. so we were waiting in line and had these 2 little kids in front of us and they got on once and promtly both fell off and were laughing and trying to have a good time. so they got back on and again both fell off it again. this time the chair stopped and didnt start for like 20 minutes. so then the kids started whining and complaining about the chair. and then out of nowhere this guy behind us comes out and says u little kids just shut the fuck up this is you fault so just fuck off. it was the funniest thing ever and then the two little kids started crying and left.

one time last year i was skiing with my friend tim and our friend pete is supposed to be showing up any minute, we're riding up the lift and we see him. he looks like hes sizing up a "jump" which is really just a huge pile of man-made blown snow, so we yell, "hit it pete!" he bombs it at the thing full force, way faster than necessarry, goes off this pile of snow about 15 feet high and he travels maybe 15 feet out, realizes he's gonna land hard on the flat so he for some reason rotates about 90 degrees and yells "damn fuck" lands completely on the flat on the other side of the pile on some boilerplate snow, me and tim are laughing our asses off we ski down to where he was and he's still laying there bitching about his ankles (he was fine) he left like 3 inch craters in the icey snow where he landed, it was so damn funny

When I was younger I was at the valley at loveland and me and two friends were on the lift and as were halfway up we here this girl scream and we look down and there are these two absolutely terriible snowboarding girls. One was sitting down and the other was going straight down the hill yelling at her friend to move and so the girl at the bottom is trying to scoot away and the speeding girls smacks right into her and flies like 10 feet down the mountain and starts crying. It was one of the most funny things ive ever seen.
