Are you looking into shooting video and/or photo using a DSLR? The Canon EOS Rebel T3 is the right choice for a beginner DSLR for people who want to start taking fast photos and professional-ish video, but don't want to be confused by the shooting modes in an EOS 5D Mark III. MSRP is around $400 with a lens or two, which is affordable for a DSLR. The camera is lightweight, stable, and is very compact. I highly recommend this to someone who is trying to shoot photo and/or video with a DSLR for the first time and someone who is on a tight budget for a DSLR.
