If you've been paying attention to what we've been doing for the last few seasons, you'll have noticed that we initially had ambitions for a quick roll-out of new models; self-funded business growth and the pandemic's effect on the business had meant that we were unable to do that.

Thankfully, that time has passed, but we've not introduced any new models, despite initially planning to release the Omni in early 2024. That has been done by choice. As we were about to give the go-ahead on the production, we discovered new developments in the materials we use in our skis, which we wanted to implement across the range but needed testing. You will see more about this in the coming months.

As a business, we've always wanted to give freeskiers the best tools that look good, ski well, have the durability to last while being used in the park or out of the resort, and do so with consideration to the product's environmental impact. We do this through meticulous material selection and design despite the cost to us. From the highest quality wood, reinforcing fibres, epoxy, base material and steel edges, sourced from as close to the factory as possible to tiny elements like how the tip spacer interacts with the 3/4 wrap edges. Because of this we had to do the unpopular thing in the short term by cancelling the Omni production earlier this year for a better long-term product.

For this coming season we are continuing to run with the Alparka and the Pioneer in two sizes, but we are now offering an additional way of buying our skis in the form of lay-away instalments, meaning you can break down the payments on new skis without the need for credit.

To break the cost of skis into 3 or 4 monthly instalments, DM us or email us at sales@faunaskis.com with the skis you want, whether you want bindings as well and where you want them sent, to set up the payment schedule.

Unlike paying with credit, we can't send you your skis until you've made the final payment, but paying this way should make it easier to save for new skis. Of course, if you're part way through paying and change your mind, it's possible to get a refund on your payments.

It has also been too long since we showed our appreciation for those who make the ski industry work, those who get people out into the mountain skiing, and those who keep us safe in the mountains. We have launched our industry pro-deal offering a discount on skis to a wide range of people working in the snowsports industry. Check out the details and how to apply here: https://faunaskis.com/pro-deal/

If you already own a pair of Fauna skis, we’ve not forgotten about you. Check out the thread here on the refund for returned skis scheme.
