SofaKingSickthat sucks dude i'm sorry. it's lame how products seem to get worse these days, not better. pivots have earned my love for being durable and dependable even when i treat them like i'm mad at them over years and years, so i hope this isn't a new trend of them cheapin out on us. hopefully/probably isn't but it sucks you paid their premium price and didn't get the durability you came for

It would make absolutely zero financial sense for look to be just giving out parts on the assumption you “might” crack yours. Thats why they have a warranty process. and e.g. i don't even know when the "next gen jester" occurred because when a binding fucks me i swear it off for years, salomons (besides their metal 916s or whatever) were pretty garbage back in the day and it took about a decade before i gave the very nice STH a try and loved it

salomon, look, tyrolia, and marker, they all have their pros and cons. only thing i'll take issue with is your claim that markers "still look nice," those mfers have the same color sensibilities as nintendo! also the "sharpened dildo" heelpiece is an interesting design choice

...but who the hell still clicks out of their binding with the other ski? It's arguably easier and far less damaging to use your poles. I haven't used my other ski since I became an adult and financially responsible for my own equipment. I never understood why some park skiers compound the damage of everyday use with foolish maintenance practices. Obviously pros are the exception since their shit is free.

Non_State_ActorAre you serious? The only binding with which this is remotely an issue is the pivot and more specifically the 2.0. Did you see that picture in one of the other Pivot 2.0 thread where one arm of a pair of bindings is dramatically larger than the other? The quality control just isn't there on these bindings yet. Kind of like the "don't buy a first year car" it's probably best to wait until the bugs are worked out on these things.

-less expensive
-brakes last twice as long, cost a 1/4 the price, and are easy to swap
-forward pressure adjustment is quick and easy
-new gen jester has bomb durability
-20mm of boot adjustably
-50mm of boot adjustably with a demo heel plate
-old gen heel kinda sucked but the new gen fixed the issues.
-still look nice
-aren't tyrolias
