AYYYYYY TRUMP fulfilled the only promise I cared about!!!
It's funny, dispite the title this article points out the primary driver of prices was the avian flu outbreaks which have been declining, leading to the price drop. And Easter is coming up which does factor in a bit. But all the stuff from the Trump admin is just like quotes saying they're responsible for the price drops with nothing specific to back it up lmao classic
Also I know you're not being like 100% serious, but man it would be a lot cooler if you did. I do get it tho tbh this thread is a total depression pit

I'll give credit where credit is due. This thread is just shitting on Trump where he's delivering on some of the things I voted him in for.
The claim in this article that prices are decreasing because of low energy prices is a stretch but probably holds a little truth.

I certainly have no positive opinions of Trump, but truthfully if I was a conservative in America I would've probably voted for him. I also totally understand why so many Americans did vote for him given the options available, and I definitely believe he truly represents a not insignificant portion of the population.
But I also believe that like many in politics, he's in it for himself, and he's just better at deceiving the public than everyone else, plus he's a true capitalist and they are always looking for ways to gain more capital.
I guess I just have a hard time believing that this is the guy (multiple divorces, multiple busines failures, litteraly has a gold toilet) that conservative America feels best represents them. Kinda hoped this thread would have some insight idk
Also I want to give you credit for mentioning the Toronto mayor smoking crack with a hooker on camera. That shit was indeed all time
Dude i wasn't even mad about the Toronto mayor. That shit was epic. Part of the draw to Trump is the entertainment value.
It doesn't really matter who is in office at this point. Just entertain me. Kamala seemed so cringe. I get that people feel that way about Trump.
Trump is a narcissist for sure. I don't think he's a good person necessarily but he doesn't sit idly. I just want the government actually serving the people liek they're supposed to.

Okay this is the part I really don't get though, because I've heard this sentiment before. I just wonder how can you expect a President who you think is a narcissist, to act in anyone's interest other than themselves? Is that totally acceptable because regardless of intent, the policies he wants to implement are ones voters support more than anything the Dems came up with?

Anyone but Kamala was my sentiment. I can't recall one actual policy from her.

Russia left a Ukrainian city in total darkness overnight Wednesday after launching drones targeting energy infrastructure and two hospitals — less than two hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin promised President Trump he would halt such attacks.
Ooooo the IRS and ICE are gonna share data now, butting at risk 5.8 million returns from people without a ssn. Yes, let's deport all the migrants, visas, green cards, illegal, whatever and scare off the rest. The irony is comical at this point because just the ICE actions are enough to eclipse any spending cuts the government has made so far.
HypeBeastMaybe maybe not. They dropped a ton in price the last few years and a lot of people drive used ones (not a great idea).
I specified those doing it in protest, doesn't mean there arent valid reasons. A shit ton of used electric cars under a decade old sitting idle in a lot somewhere is not good for the environment, nor is replacing a perfectly fine electric car with a new one.
TOAST.As much as I can't stand elon, the people selling their teslas in protest are probably the most annoying privileged dickheads in the world.

Yeah why would saying "people selling their teslas in protest" make them privileged? It's not like they're destroying them and essentially burning money. They're still selling them. For some people, even breaking a lease or eating a few thousand is worth it in their minds to not contribute to what Elon is doing right now and what he stands for.
My point of bringing up the used car and lower cost even for brand new versions was to point out that they are now affordable for a much larger group of people. You don't have to be a rich bastard to drive a tesla.
The cheapest brand new 2025 model 3 is $34,990 near me to buy or finance. A lease is $300/mo. That's literally the cost of what most Americans drive. Sure some versions are hella expensive but gone are the days of this being a rich guy car. So again, I'm failing to understand how someone selling their car in protest makes them a privileged dickhead.

They’ve had the $299 leases for almost 2 years now. That really isn’t new and has nothing to do with the current political climate.
when I got my Y last March $299 leases were the regular offering for a base model 3 or y.

Dickhead may have been an overstatement, stand behind privileged. I just think trading in a perfectly fine car, that was probably bought in part to be more environmentally friendly, to then buy another new car is misguided. I guess someone will get a cheap used ev now so that's cool.

Not gonna lie, you're not entirely wrong, but if people are trading in their cars to not be a part of the whole...due process doesn't matter movement...I'm going to be less focused on people trading in their cars and more focused on the whole due process disappearing or doesn't exist thing.
I hate ev's in general and like things that go vroom but (and I hate how virtue signally this sounds) but I think we've got some larger issues outside of private citizens deciding to sell their own automotive property.
Lmao, after the admin claimed that there was nothing classified, but also that they couldn’t show anything the Atlantic posted the rest of the group chat.
Not an expert but I’d have to imagine that the strike times and packages are probably classified before the strike happens lmao
The people fucking up other people’s teslas are beyond stupid. You want to torch some at a dealership, hey have it, but fucking up peoples personal cars is just fucked.
Majority of Tesla owners are Democrats and as such most likely agree with the thoughts of the people doing the vandalism, most likely voted the same and most likely don’t like Elon at this point either.
Most people can’t afford to just dump their vehicles or end a lease early etc without some kind of negative financial repercussions to them. So you’re just costing someone who thinks overall like you more money. You’re also raising insurance premiums across the board likely costing yourself more money too.

Yeah I doubt most people agree with vandalism. I think you might be saying their positions are similar but the ambiguity in the statement reads as if you're saying most democrats agree with the mindset that vandalism in this situation is OK.
Also you might find this interesting that while most EV owners are not republican, Tesla has shifted towards a red fan base. Also over time the fluctuations had many years where the owner demographics were about the same for political affiliation.

Correct I was referring to general Political views. Not the vandalism part, and yes while true republicans have made up a large portion of new Tesla buyers democrats still make up the largest portion of Tesla owners as a whole , by a lot. Which is why you’re more likely to do something to someone’s car that is a democrat rather than a republican. In my neighborhood there are 5 of us who have teslas. We are all democrats.
Just got into a huuuuge fight with in-laws, they called me racist, a Trump voter, all that.
meanwhile, we’re in Mexico, they won’t let me go out to walk 2 blocks to buy Tequila and yogurt cuz it’s too dangerous, but Mexico is peaceful and Trump is the problem? wtf is that

Genuinely sorry to hear your fighting with family over politics. That’s the group that should always stick together regardless of political views but seems they’re the ones who have some of the worst fights.
The people downvoting this statement have to be the people fucking with the teslas lol.

the current administration would be hilarious to spectate, if it weren't for all the deportations, lives being fucked up, and families torn apart by ICE. Deporting PhD students for protesting Israeli war crimes is insane, i get it if they are actually Hamas-affiliated, but the only evidence Canary project shows are opinion articles in student newspapers criticizing Israel for collateral damage and killing children. Call me crazy, but i don't think saying "killing kids is bad" should be grounds for revoking green cards and deportation

Maybe people feel like owning one is condoning Elon which isn't greay. Then the simple. People don't want to have their cars vandalized or have the resale go to 0.
Idk people can sell their car at any time for any reason. Unless thats somehow "woke" and illegal now...
