I wanna be able to grab food at a fast food joint when I'm in a hurry and not be eating pure garbage.
I was fat and depressed in 2021, I decided enough was enough and started hitting the gym hard and trying to learn everything I could about food and measuring calories.
This took immense amounts of research and lots of hard work along with hiring an online trainer but I lost 40 pounds and gained a lot of muscle. I now do ultra marathons, lift consistently & have tracked my macros every day for nearly 3 years. I wish it didn't have to be this strict but in America there really is no other way.
There are insanely large road blocks at every intersection of trying to take your health back in America. So many of my friends have no idea what to eat, no idea how to effectively workout, and too many are on extremely dangerous drugs such as sleeping pills, and SSRI's after being prescribed by a doctor who didn't ask any of the following things:
"What does your diet look like?"
"How much sunlight a day do you get?"
"How many hours a week do you exercise?"
"If not exercise are you at least getting out and moving your body through walks or standing for a long time?"
We need an entire overhaul of Americans approach to health and that starts with education. But not the USDA food pyramid garbage that has 6 to 11 servings of grains per day because again our federal institutions have failed Americans regards to their health for far too long.
I recently recommended my father to read the book "Outlive" by MD. Peter Attita, he could not believe the amount of medical breakthroughs we have made in regards to human health & longevity that were never effectively taught to the US populace.
This all changes come January and I have full belief that Bobby can do it.

I absolutely get what your saying its defiantly time government officials stood up to big pharma and food companies. That being said, I don't think that the reason no chief of HHS has implemented these changes is that they just lacked the balls or experience. I think it much more likely that these companies lobby politicians to not do so. And maybe RFK would have the decency to just do it anyway but Trump and a lot of other people in power wont.
My point is that the cause of this problem is the way that the American political system prioritizes corporate interests over individual wellbeing. So until this is fixed i don't think the head of HHS will be able to make a big change in this area. Especially under Trump and the republican administration ( the democrats also do fuck all on this). So in the meantime I'd like a head of HHS who doesn't spew nonsense about vaccines causing autism or other medical/health misinformation.
