ARV 106 or Bent Chetlers 100?

Hey guys,

The title says it all.

I decide between these two pairs of skis. I'll have them for ski touring/freeriding (Europe - the snow is not THAT deep). I want a playful ski that will turn sharply (dense forests on my local mountain) and manage day trips. I have read a few articles but I want to know some personal experience. With the ARV´s, I'm afraid that they will feel heavy and they won't want to turn around, on the contrary, with the Atomics, I'm not sure of its playfulness in deeper snow and whether the ski is too hard. I just want a snappy ski that I can fool around, do shifties easily, jib side hits, flip them in the backcountry etc. you get it.
Both of them would be surely 188 cm long. I am about 183 cm and weight 75 kg.

I now have 2016 TST´s 192 for backcountry and they feel so heavy and boring and I do not like them anymore. And yes, they are long as hell.

If there is anyone with some personal experience who can compare these two it would be so helpful!

yeah this is tough. I’ve skied both a lot over the last year and I don’t think the bent chetler are for you due to the rigidity. Get the armadas or the UL armadas

from the description you gave you should take a look at the Line Sick Day 104 and the Fischer Ranger 102 FR. both are really great skis. Line Sick Day 104 is like a perfect match for what you want to do.



between the ARV 106 and BC100 the BC100 is probably a better choice.

have not really considered different brands, cuz I had only Armadas and Atomics and have got no experience with other brands. Should do bit of more research even on other brands and try some demos if there are any with Line´s in Czech republic :D

bent chetler 100s sounds it would be the best

it does get knocked around, but that thing turns!

chetler 120s are my woodskis for pow for tight terrain with treeeeeeeeeees

Armada ARW 106 UL is your choice.

I don’t like BC 100 coz I can stand stiff tail with such ridiculously soft nose.


PS check Line SFB. Could be your one ski quiver.

I have a pair of 21/22 ARV 106s waiting to be mounted up in 188, and I wouldn't want to tour in them. They're weighing in at 2290g per ski...

Armada and Atomic (and salomon) are the same brand. Brand loyalty in the ski industry is pretty much between Amer and the Triple Crown (Volkl, Marker, Dalbello).

My opinion but brand loyalty is so dumb. Tons of skis to try out I could never limit myself
