Our main lift by mid day had 5 lines of corrals on the left and also on the right and 2 straight out....
normally theirs just 2 on each side except Christmas week or holidays.
Also their was no social distancing and most people somehow couldn’t figure out how to put a mask over their nose, fucking kooks gonna ruin my ski season. Cuomo’s gonna shut us down If he sees and pictures of that mess
Went up today and there were no lines. Probably because we just got rain on hood and it’s been sunny, feels like spring in January :( Can’t say it’ll be the same the next 2 days.
Our hill isn’t capping the amount of tickets sold so we have been packed. I heard that last weekend was a record number of people and this weekend has been insane too. The parking lot has also been filling up so people are fr parking on the road which is a steep icy hill just to ski 350ft vert.

What hill? I can give a good guess on which one haha.
My resort has had about 2 times the amount of people as normal ever since Xmas, but compared to the other Saturdays I’ve skied this year the holiday weekend seemed to only bring one or two hundred more people.
ElsnycI work at solitude and no one is there cuz ikon is blacked out
Only for the plebs on base pass.
Went up today, got there early expecting big crowds as there have been every night and weekend all season, and it was totally chill, minimal line-ups, happy people with masks on and stuff. The weather was decent and everything, snow was marginal, it's been rained on several times over the past week. Had a great day!
Last weekend seemed busier. Overall this season has seemed busier to me. I expected liftlines to be long since they arent filling up chairs, but parking lot has been pretty full every time I've gone. There is a guest limit, but I'm pretty sure whatever that limit is is more than a normal weekend.

#tipyourlifty ... you wouldn' believe some of the assholes we have to deal with

This is at Christie mountain in Wisconsin. Today they finally put up some no parking signs on the road to prevent it from becoming a sketchy one lane road so that’s nice.
Well it was icy as fuck, and still crowded af so pretty friggin crowded. We rode yesterday for a bit. My roomate wanted to ride convince me to go. Was suoer crusty but at least sun was out. I think tiday was slightly better. At least the park had a good groom on it snd im sure the trails that got groomed were fine. Groomers prilly got scraped fast though. Wouod have been worth riding today maybe if it was empty, def not with any crowd especially mlk. Fuck it though, all the people parked in front of our trailer seemed to be having a good time. I sure as hell wasnt gonna ride so ill let em have their mlk.
Not my photo but this was from last night I believe. I’m not sure if tickets were sold out or not. But in NY there are pretty strict capacity limits and somehow this looks on par/busier than normal.
Snowshoe lift lines have been a shit show even midweek, even with western open the other side of the mountain is broke up in like 14 really slow moving lines at every lift, however western is basically empty 1 minute waits on worst days and there’s been plenty of room on the slopes, all parks are filled with gapers this season tho

Always yodeler that's backed up like this, like a huge blob.
Mardi gras is two huge lines but it always feels faster than the purgatory that is the yodeler lift line.
Honestly it was terrible around Christmas but it’s starting to die down I think. A lot of times the parking lot looks packed but everybody’s just tailgating and nobody’s actually skiing
eheathPark City is busier than last year, covid is actually causing more people to ski, the reservation system doesn't do anything either lol
I'm sure some it it is people having free time, and nkthing else to do, things aren't open. But a lot if stuff is driven by hype. People will pay too much ti ski the most icy white ribbin if death on a crowded opening day, but wont pay 1/4 of that to ski gorgeous groomers, 100% open terrain, sunny and solid base in april.
People want want they cant have and making skiing limited edition just drives the hype train. Our parking lots were full af every day and that maxes us out already.
Shit's weird. Also the reservation system makes people commit to actually going on days they might have changed their minds. It's a friggin zoo

I hate skiing in the evenings at hv even mid day lines have been awful everywhere this year

I saw the staff there got hit with Covid pretty hard this past week.
It was a bit crowded early in the morning today at Gore as usual and it died down somewhat once the top and other parts opened up. Left early bc I was tired as a mf.
The crowds this time last year were far worse than what I saw today which really threw me in a funk. Also the fact that there are no fireworks and a huge ass potluck in the base lodge this MLK weekend, as well as cars parked all the way down to the bottom of the long ass access road (iykyk).
On a sad note theft at BS has been up this weekend. Park crew has been awesome posting any stolen items to their insta so we can keep an eye out. Also had some co workers have gear lifted this weekend.

Yeah I mean that’s fair for normal years. But this is pretty bad. I’d be really shocked if they don’t have to make substantial operation modifications or if they are shut down altogether, which would really suck
Apparently visits I my home resort are up 10,000 from last year at this time. They did open 2 days earlier and have been scanning passes all the time so I'm sure that inflates numbers, but still pretty crazy
