The pokey kind w/ baskets. All jokes aside, the cheapest poles are the best ones cuz you'll break em if you ski hard so you'll have to replace them. Better to not have expensive poles that you'll be bummed about snapping on a dope hot tubber send
feel free to get nice ones if it's important to you or you need quality telescoping ones for skinning etc
otherwise just get whatever is cheap and has a grip you like. it's not like cheap poles are bad or heavy or anything, and it sucks to have to worry about them getting damaged
Line poles 100%, love the motocross grip and grab tabs, and the Pollard's Paint Brush's adjustabillity lets you ride em long in pow and short in park. The grab tabs make it nice to ride them without straps if that's your style.
Yeah ik they're not cheap but if you're willing to pay a bit (a marginal amount compared to a ski setup/outerwear) it's worth it imo.
forgot to mention: remove the straps from your poles! Would you rather potentially drop a pole or dislocate your shoulder? Lots of things under the snow grab poles and don't let go

I really like my Goode ski poles. I was sick of always bending aluminum poles so I finally got a set and they have lasted for years. They are kind of expensive but worth it in the long run:
I love my old cut down Scott poles, they've taken some hard hits and gotten a little bent up but never broken.
I like the finger notches in their grips too.

If it doesn't budge removing it by hand try putting on a rubber glove for extra grip or apply heat with a blowdryer to loosen any glue that might be in there. That usually works for me...

Both Leki and Atomic have these but the Leki ones need to connect to a Leki glove or something. The Atomic ones just work.

Like others have said, putting the grip on the pole in a pot of boiling water. After that if you use a door, by closing the pole grip on the other side and pulling, they come off easy, Using the top of the door and pulling down on it is a good way to avoid any visible damage.

I don’t feel right if my straps aren’t on. I have no clue why. Can’t stand poles without straps. But I never ride park with poles if I’m lapping because of the handle tow.

personally I prefer the Line motocross grip to any "ergonomically shaped" one, I don't like having contours for fingers and stuff, definitely not gonna accommodate mittens that well. the motocross grip is simple, comfortable, and grippy. But to each their own

I wear thick mittens and my Scott grips still feel alright, possibly because the fabric of the mitten fills in a lot of the notches. It is annoying though when the poles get twisted around and the notches are hitting your palm. I like the line grips when doing grabs, but for rails and all mountain skiing I like the pistol grip feeling of the Scott grips.
Take a couple sticks of bamboo from the hill, cut em to length, hockey tape for the grips and scavenge a couple baskets and you're styling. Beats paying $100+ to those dirty hippies hawking em online.

Literally what non-race poles are even within a few dollars of $100
My pa bought me these when I was 13 or 14 and told me I better never need a new pair of poles again because they were $80 and adjustable. 7 years later and still rockin them, thanks dad- you were right.
On the RARE ocasion I bust out some poles I use a pair of wallisch ones from line, if using for park and havent been using poles for very long I would definetly recomend getting a pair with grab tabs
