Liability waivers are one thing, but honestly, the hills really don't care whether or not you want to do this stuff. You are not it's target market. The people that bring their families, get passes, pay thousands of dollars a year (hence, race teams) are considered priority. Some hills (Crabbe/Wentworth) have insurance that covers most liability and they are okay with people going 'inverted' as long as it's not a straight back/front/lincoln, etc.
If you are serious about knowing what policy your local hill has, e-mail them and ask them. Chances are they will just say no inverts, but it's worth a try. When the ECCFSA tried to start holding comps, we were quoted prices from $1,000 to $500,000 for a single day, just to give you an idea of how much people around here know about the topic. One

I think my day has come and gone...I wanna ski so bad, but I don't think I have the time. I've got a heavy class load to graduate. Like seriously, I wanna get down on the urbans like as much as possible, but as far as travelling, I doubt I have the cash or the time. If this year is a flop and I don't get any more glass in my foot, or broken thumbs, or god knows what else has fucking happened to me...then we'll see. If you boys or anyone for that matter drives through the Fredericton area, hit me off, cause we can do up some mad urbans...that would probly make most of you shit your pants...I might bust out for one slopestyle comp or something, just to have a good time...
Once I start working full time, I'm thinking of moving to Montreal and then takin' time off to hit up US open and the goods like that...if my old ass body can handle it. I only got out to Hali to surf once this summer, so who knows if I'd get there this winter. ROCK THE URBAN SCENE...I need some new boys to rock these rails with, hit me off!!!
- Jon aka Chappy aka The living, walking bail reel for anyone's movies...I set new starndards when it comes to this, ask ANYONE that rides with me often...
At Wetnworth the 'official' word is, no inverts. I take that to mean if you feet go above your head in an obvious manner taking into account your plane of axis. basicly I would love to see more people doing inverts but our insurance is really sticky on it, and if we dont inforce it and someone gets paralyzed, we as a hill could be liable. We do inforce it and the only time you can go inverted is in a sanction even with santioned insurance. The NSSA had it for their halfpipe events and we had it for the ORAGE Big air. Our head of mountain saftey didnt accept it though so we still had the no invert rule for that event too. Anyways, no inverts at Wentworth.
You guys really have no idea how much insurance costs for the hill, 4-6 figures depending on the hill, and it goes up when you have a claim.
