Tabasco or Cholula?

I like tabasco for the heat but cholula tastes better imo. What's the best hot sauce?

If you can find it at your grocery store check out Melinda's Hot Sauce. Its really good and has about the same heat as Tobasco.

Cholula tastes much better but tobasco gets alot of unnecessary hate. Tobasco is pretty much spicy vinegar so if you use it on dishes that need vinegar / acidity it's perfect. Belongs more on the spice rack rather than the hot sauce shelf imo.

Tobasco was the only hit sauce option around me when i first moved to NZ. I made it a month and a half before I caved. I still felt dirty setting it down at the check out, my face full of shame knowing that I was selling my soul.

I knew it was wrong and I wanted to stop myself but I'm human, and we have needs. On the salk home I was numb. Who was I? What had I done? I snuck away to my room with a burger and opened the tobasco. Slathering that horseshit sauce all over my meal before shoving it into my face. I wanted to stop but I had craved spice for so long. Tears ran down my cheeks with every bite. The mix of juicy meat, pepper sauce, and heavy emotion was flying through my brain. I still look back in that day with sadness but increasing understanding. I'm not a bad person, I was just a victim of an understocked condiment section. My therapist has has me working on myself, and dealing with that moment and I've made a bit if progress.

I blamed the lack of friends, my lack of guidance. I blamed myseld. It wasn't my fault, and I no longer live in shame. I was a victim and it wasn't my fault.

I like to try different hot sauces. Especially if any place makes their own. Hell even one dude on phish tour a few years back was selling 4 packs of legit hot sauces to get the name out there more. I bought a few of those.

I put sriracha on a lot of stuff. Also have a fat bottle of tapatio. Usually I'll have more stuff I just don't at the moment.

Still not a huge tabasco but I can deal with it. My issue is that it over powers a lot of things. It can be useful for cooking but if you're just slapping it on for some heat, it kind of takes over. You now have a tabasco burger, tobasco fries, a tabasco whatever.

Idk. to be the staple sauce that's friggin everywhere it just isn't that good. I don't hate it, but for a standard option at all restaurants I'd be down for pretty much anything else.

Southern/vinegar hot sauces are only good with actual southern food like fried chicken or something. Best all around hot sauce is anything habanero and carrot based, lots of other good stuff too. As long as it's really spicy and isn't 90% fucking vinegar

i also recommend, you can get extra spicy versions that are great for eggs and rice dishes and such. i have like 3 bottles of it lol

Damn you are a brave man. The normal stuff is pretty hot to my taste, I cant imagine the cranked up version.

If somebody made an indiana jones satchel that came with 4 bottles of dank hotsauce I would buy the fuck out if it and bring them everywhere. Clear out bunk ass hot sauces! I'll whip your whack ass hot sauches off the table, maybe even out of people's hands and save the dsy with something better. It'd be like a super hero but way cooler.
