.FRY.Word, can't wait to get nothing. Thanks government!
Turd__AuthorityWhy? You a dependent?
mystery3I'm not expecting much if anything. The calculation is made on your 2018 tax returns if you haven't filed for 2019 yet. I made more than 99k in 2018. The problem is I made $0 last month and am probably going to lose money this month soooo what does 2018 have to do with this?

Turd__AuthorityBecause it's the most recent income data they have. Pretty sure you can claim the deduction on your 2020 returns if your income this year is less than that, but that won't help you now...
Sdot.Your AGI was greater than $99K? Or your regular gross income?
mystery3I don't really expect the government to help the middle class. In my case it may come out even in the end, we'll see. We'll be alright unless this thing drags on for months.
AGI, I had a full-time job through that year and pushed to grow my company and get it off the ground. I live in the most expensive part of the world though so 100k doesn't really go very far. The median household income in my county is $126K.
skiermanIt sounds like you need to pull yourself up by the bootstraps instead of relying on government handouts, buddy. Keep voting Republican and that's what you get.
mystery3What are you talking about? I said I wasn't expecting any help from the government.

Sdot.Ouch. The only reason I qualify is because I'm married and file jointly. Our deductions bring our household AGI just barely below $150K. Where do you live?
mystery3SF Bay area for the time being, basically right in the middle of silicon valley.
greaterisraelFuck this stimulus package. More debt and more deficits for your children and children's children. They always forget that, with a stimulus package.
We should have quarantined the most vulnerable people; hospitals and nursing homes. Excluding the fact that the mortality rates do not account for all the propganda being broadcasted by the corporate media , they destroyed the economy and that will eventually cause more torment and depression and hardship, as both my parents lost their job. And now they get a measly stimulus treatment; many times less than what they actually earned.
COVID-19 is not that dangerous. It is only dangerous for those who are 75+ in age and the death RISK for them is more than 5%; however taking into account infection rate; .11%, that means the actual mortality rate is under 1%. To shut down an entire population; arrest people and destroy thr economy is very, very stupid, or, it was planned.
Nevertheless, oligarchs are making hundreds of millions off of this scare. Event 201 participants made quite a fortune, whoch is disgusting.
it's only temporary they said. Yeah, like thr Patriot Act, NDAA, and all the other terrible things your corporation does.
A death is sad, don't get me wrong, but the same people fronting this virus pushing fear are the same ones who have falsified diagnostics and violated colour of law and RICO during the 90's.
God bless.
theabortionatorI still like that it's called stimulus. More like "here's some money for food, and probably not even rent so you don't start robbing stores".
greaterisraelFuck this stimulus package. More debt and more deficits for your children and children's children. They always forget that, with a stimulus package.
God bless.
.nastyI mean, for people who have saved a bit more and not living paycheck to paycheck it will be a stimulus. As I know my money is going right to bike parts haha
SammyDubzHoly shit hahahhaha
SuspiciousFishIts over the top but there is some truth to his post. We cant keep printing money to hand out and keep people locked in for months. Even then, the virus is still going to come around when we open things up anyway. The longer you shut things down the deeper the impact for all stages of the production, transport and sale of goods. Farmers are already plowing fields down because all the restaurants are closed. That is the issue we face now, we can shut down for a few weeks to flatten the curve but what is the long term strategy?
iFlipReally? Really????

SuspiciousFishReally.
You dont think there are economic consequences to printing trillions of dollars of fiat currency? We are already looking at 15 to 25% of local restaurants that may never open again. This virus is out in the world now and sweeping over the country with a vaccine 18 months away at best and we dont even know it will work. Im not saying we should just go YOLO and pretend it does not exist but we have to find some kind of equilibrium of balancing risk with keeping things going on a sustainable long term.
iFlipReally? You care more that some small restaurants continue to be going concerns than potentially several hundred thousand people dying? When it comes to massive loss of life, economics should not even be a passing concern.
iFlipReally? You care more that some small restaurants continue to be going concerns than potentially several hundred thousand people dying? When it comes to massive loss of life, economics should not even be a passing concern.
SuspiciousFishThat is not what im saying. You think that if we shut people away for 60 days the virus is going to magically go away? All it takes is a few smoldering infections passed through grocery store shopping etc and its going to come back as soon as we get people out again. That is the shit reality of this that we cant escape.
My Mother in Law works for a bank and people are already fucked. Yeah we are getting checks but what about next month? What happens when hundreds of thousands of people cant pay for food, medicine or their mortgage? We cant indefinitely print Trillions of dollars, Germany tried that after WWII and it crushed the country. Sure, we have the petro-dollar to keep our currency value artificially inflated but what if China makes a power play with the OPEC countries? Russia and Saudi Arabia are already in an oil price war that we just barely diffused and could still have far reaching consequences and can potentially spark war.
Sure, we need to keep everyone heads down so the healthcare industry can restock and absorb the initial shock but beyond that we need to acknowledge our new reality, come up with ways to mitigate the risk of rapid spread and at least get things moving again. We have to do it some time and the longer we wait, the more damage and instability we are going to create.
SammyDubzHoly shit hahah

mystery3If you think this way there are hundreds of things that you shouldn't do. Driving would be the first thing to go.
You have to be able to manage risk in your life and as a society.

ScaryDumpTruckExactly, we need to open everything back up as soon as we can. The consequences of not doing anything and just waiting will be much worse than if we opened up everything earlier.
CLQReally cool that some companies don't have to pay back their loans but everyone getting a stimulus check does :)
greaterisraelThat's not an argument. Both my father and my mother lost their jobs due to strict government and State policies that infringe on constitutional rights for a virus that is largely based off fear-mongering. That's why Trump and all the Iraq warmongers are tweeting and addressing the nation, declaring:
"This is an invisible war."
"The global war on the invisible enemy."
Similar to the fraudulent global war on terror.
Hence: GWOT and now GWOTIE.
Basically, in their warped mind the motto is: "Never let a good crisis go to waste."
It won't end for a very long time, and the consequences of locking down society like this will hurt far more people than if we simply allowed the economy to run as is but completely quarantined all nursing homes and hospitals. Again, .11% infection rate in endemic areas of COVID-19; so, in rural areas of the country where people are just trying to make a living with what little they have, they have lost their livlihood because of a government response due to a virus that will never reach them. 18 - 45 year olds; death risk is less than 1%. 75+ year olds death risk is, over 5%. If you are 75 years of age, live in an endemic area for COVID-19, you have an 0.11% chance of acquiring the infection from the virus. Which means you have less than an 0.002% chance of dying from it! To shut down the entire country, in my honest opinion and the honest opinions of other doctors and scientists I know who don't get 24/7 corporate media broadcasts or government addresses, is over the top.
And can I get a reasonable contention why Euromomo is ahowing that Italy's mortality rate is well under avg. compared to lat year or years before? Same with Spains. Some could contend that they locked their entire country down but it occured beforehand too. Just an odd statistic when you account for the fact that their appear to be no excess deaths.
An 18 years old is 218x more likely to die from life than COVID-19; 75 year olds are 418x more likely to die from old age. To close down society; all of it, in paranoia, and for how long??? It is ridiculous to me and has started to ruin my families livelihood. The government stimulus (debt) check or unemployment is not enough, no where close to the income they were geting to just get by with all the debt already piled on.
Again, is my "crazy" opinions over the top? Yes, maybe you feel my opinion is over the top, but I came to these conclusioms somehow; so I don't believe I'm irrational in stating them.
We can't. Espeically in an inflationary crisis. It will destroy the economy and cause far more torment in the long run for your children and your children's children to bear. Hand outs are not free; stimulus treatments for a frail economy ARE NOT FREE. That interest must be paid back in cash. And the treasury only has so much cash. It is a write-off for maturing debts that our children will be used in the future as collateral. Of course the only way to not pay them is to default or audit and end the incorporated Federal Reserve. But that won't happen and doing that would destroy their legal tender and the economy.
"Farmers are already plowing fields down because all the restaurants are closed."
I know a farmer who had to close down his farm. Many have lost their livelihood. And these are farmers that are on welfare or just barely getting by. I too, would love to farm in the future. When all the folks run to the city to aquire that "factory paycheck" they forget that less than 10% of farmers cannot feed 90% of city dweller consumers, who, to be quite honest, would be better off eating bio-tech, lab-engineered food.
"That is the issue we face now, we can shut down for a few weeks to flatten the curve but what is the long term strategy?"
They don't seem to have one, or at least are not telling the American people. They figure the fractional reserve system will work its way out of the crisis. And lets not forget, this has been one of the biggest wealth transfers to the top 1% in 75+ years. Many people made hundreds of millions off of this pandemic.
That's not an argument. Imagine just saying that to someone who stated what was on their mind and then didn't follow up with any contention, argument, or conversation. Yeah, that's you.
Vaccines rarely work on Corona Viruses, as per studies, due to antegenic variation. My question would be: How can they make the vaccine work effectively and what test will they use to check the vaccines efficacy?
Until then, the idea of a vaccine is a little far off; the best option would be to quarantine all hospitals and vulnerable areas and let the economy run as is. They haven't even fully quarantined vulnerable areas; which they should have focused on first, before destroying the economy. It's a balancing act, of which the Unted States Incorporated &c., seems to care very little about.
Imagine saying that to someone, whose whole family was impacted by the virus. That someone, being me, has a thought and decided to share it. And your reponse:
"I can't even."
That's not even a full sentence. You can't event... what? Slap your face?
The several hundred thousand people dying is a fraudulent fearmongering study. I have someone who works in the hospital and she tells me they are reclassifying a lot of deaths as COVID-19 when they are not. The doctors are also getting kickbacks. Basically, they will simply write off COVID-19 deaths on a clinical diagnosis or based on antibody tests alone. It's quite odd
to me, knowing these same individuals, like Fauci, lied about persistent bacterial infections in the 90's. And helped to falsify ELISA Lyme tests so that nobody would test positive. It is as if they are doing the opposite with this virus. I do not put my trust into these people who have a shady history with Borreliosis that has probably impacted hundreds of skiers here on newschoolers. Fauci also made the odd recommendation that immunity ID's will be issued in order to work and go to school again after vaccine is made. Sounds a little 1984 to me.
If you're not with us, your against us. You must be one with the collective. May I ask: Why not drive a car?
The virus won't certainly go away. Which is why a risk assessment is needed. We live pay check to pay check. With debt and food added on, the government response will certainly destroy our livelihood and probably has for millions upon millions. Not for conveniences sake but "actually" destroyed their livelihood.
Like you've said, as I've tried to say to others: Germany did that after WW2 and WW1. It led to an inflationary crisis far worse than the great depression in the US. It led to them defaulting and in its place fascism stood, or could it have been communism? It was either/or.
Every country is starting to de-dollarize. The BRIC alliance and the international community has little trust in a western aligned unipolar world. Russia, and China's central banks have stocked up on gold. The US's fiat currency can only last so long. The petro-dollar can only be sustained through Sunni allies.
China could make a power play with the OPEC countries; especially with the BELT Road Initiative. Even Qatar turned to Iran. It could very well come to fruition where the Saudi's make a deal with China and the BRIC alliance. That can only lead to another war; as that would be the only way the US would respond.
As soon, could be whenever, according to your government.
God bless, hope everyone stays safe.

Turd__AuthorityTldr, but "I can't even" basically means your comment was so fucking stupid and immature that I can't even begin to describe how wrong about so many things you are. Good luck bud. Enjoy being a fucking retard.

ScaryDumpTruckI don't think you will ever agree with anyone so just stop quoting half of newschoolers and stfu
mystery3You missed my point. I'm basically agreeing with you in principle. We must all make calculations of risk constantly and act in a reasonable manner to stay safe but also participate in society and enjoy life. If one is willing to shelter in place for months or years to avoid getting a virus which is basically akin to a nasty strain of influenza one cannot possibly think driving in a car would be prudent do to the risk of death or serious bodily injury.
theabortionatorThis is America. Thats like 1/3 of the people at best
.MASSHOLE.FFS people.
Rural communities aren't immune to this either. The biggest current outbreak hotspot in the US is in South Dakota at a meat-processing plant.
Currently, all but one of Washington’s 39 counties, most of them rural, have reported Covid-19 cases. Nationwide, more than two-thirds of rural counties had confirmed cases as of April 6. Across rural America, the per capita infection rate “was more than double what it was six days earlier.” That’s as fast as or faster than recent increases in Chicago, Miami, Boston, Los Angeles and New York. The country’s highest Covid-19 rate is in Blaine County, Idaho, home to 22,277 residents and the Sun Mountain ski resort.
Sure, there may not be as many people but there aren't as many healthcare operations running in these places either. These healthcare operations, whether it's a pharmacy, outpatient clinic, hospital, etc. are highly likely to have less of the equipment or supplies needed to deal with an outbreak or are on the tail end of the federal and state supply chain designed to provide these items to them. Currently, the geniuses at the WH have states and hospitals bidding against one another for supplies. Guess who isn't going to win these kinds of auctions, the tiny hospital from podunk Missouri, Mississippi, Iowa, or New Mexico.
