its always there for you to build a jump considering the landing is a solid rock but you have to build a jump. and even if you do, youre not gonna clear it

most likly you will need to build your own jump, and if there is fresh snow you will have to clear the inrun. you just can;t go out and hit a 90ft gap by yourself.

search for the thread about chads with montanakid and creedman, how to get tochads from the bottom of alra i think... you might have to build your own jump, and travis rice destroyed the landing a while back, so if it hasn't snowed since youre screwed...

if your not interested in 'wasting 2 days' dont bother then. Chads Gap is a 120 foot jump for take off to landing, if you clear it. It is NOT something you want to do on your own. If you poach someone else's jump that they spent hours working on, they will probably beat your ass. I wouldnt try unless you have the days to spend, and the friends to help.

you should start with pyramid because it's always built more or less and requires some 'touch up's' it's right up the gulch an extra few minutes and if you're still hungry for more after that hit chads up, pyramid has a much better landing

how did chads gap get its name? a buddy asked me and said that candide was the first to hit it so why isnt it called candide's jump?

Chads isn't 'always' built, but after a good dumping and a sunny day, there are usually locals up there building the jumps or 'uncovering' them. The inrun is really the difficult part, and is rarely fully built. Inrun jump and all should only take a few (2-5) hours to build with 3 people.

Whoa I just read up on Chad Zurinskas, and it turns out that he wasn't the first to actually clean Chad's Gap. He was the first to hit it, but cased it hard the first hit and called it a day after two tries. Candide (16 at the time), asked permission to hit it, permission was granted and as they say, the rest is history.

if you're not gonna take the time to build it don't hit it, it's a fuckin' 120 foot gap and if you come up short you'll probably fuck yourself up, not to mention you are probably at least 40 feet of the gully floor.
