First off, how many of you immediately went to check your pivots to see how this is even possible? Haha
Next, only in today's age would someone pause to take a snapchat of their thumb stuck in that. I wouldn't immediately opened it.
Lastly, how the fuck do you do this? It's practically unnatural to have your thumb where his woulda been to crush it assuming these were mounted on skis when it happened

ahh see this is what you would think, I think it happens to everyone when they are not mounted to skis, When I did it, I was trying to engage the heel piece with my hand and since everything pivots the only way to get leverage on it is to hold that black bar back, then it snaps up so quickly that your finger is still there

I cant image trying to get the dildo back down not mounted to a ski with you finger trapped in it.
This has been a thing for a while, I remember hearing Rossignol used to have a stock of replacement heel pieces just for shop techs who did this (typically the solution is to just cut the binding off)
weastcoastSame thing happened to me before at the bottom of my thumb.
whole thumb was completely numb 24/7 for the next year and a half lol.
Same here. Cranked mine in a pair set to 14 and off the ski. Took like 15 minutes to get off and didn't have feeling for probably about 2 years. Still have scars
How does this happen ? I don’t want it happen to me
I was looking at mine and ya I could purposefully smash me finger or Weiner if I’m feeling enough self hate but how is this happening accidentally ?

people usually do it when theyre messing around with an unmounted pair. when it's on a ski it's easy to grab the heelpiece and move it because you have leverage with it attached to the ski. when it's not, people improvise on how they get leverage and their fingers can be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and that's how this happens
I had to explain to a shop what pivots were once when I was having my skis mounted(never went to that shop since) and told them to be careful because they’ll snap up if you fuck with them and you can get your fingers caught in there. Dude at the counter brought them down stairs and came up 5 minutes later saying that the tech caught his thumb in the bindings. It was uncanny at how it all played out.
I have a pair of unmounted 18s in my room that I’m waiting to put on some wides and this thread terrified me to even look at them.

I did it accidentally cause I wanted to see what the pivot heel piece looked like flipped up, didn't know where my fingers were and snapped right down on two fingers, literally felt like prying open a bear trap, my middle finger was ghost white for months.
Me, being the dumbass I am, just read through this whole thread, picked up my unmourned pivots, and started screwing around trying to figure out how this happens.... holy shit that was scary!!

I bought 14s in July ish .... played with them probably 5 to 8 times over the summer months thru til early November before I knew this was a thing , luckily nothing sprung on me 😙
when I read this thread a week ago or whenever my stomache twisted I was like oh so thankful to be lucky
This has also happened to me but not as bad, kind of separated my joint, left a hole the size of a bb. Fingernail later fell off. The worst part is when you are pushing down to get the binding to pop back up it squeeze's your finger more.

Big ups for updating this thread on the day of lmao. You might save someone else!
plus I heard a rumor that getting bitten by Pivots can give you special powers just like Spider-Man getting bitten by a spider, so chin up my man and keep us updated

Lmao the doctor that took care of me saw me at the front desk and said “he’s got the new pivots!” Turns out he has them on his skis. Pretty dope haha.

I’m still not sure how I’ve managed to only catch the tip of my finger once considering I’ve mounted hundreds of pivots over the years... still have the pic in the OP saved on my phone to show people
dev8295Just got my first pair of pivots for this season.. how do I ensure this never happens haha?
grantn_Don’t try to pout the heel piece up while holding the black bar.
Also if u have em mounted it shouldn’t be a problem

shinbangclanJesus christ I didn't know pivots were that dangerous lol
Yeah like the dude said it generally just happens when people are trying to work the heel piece when they aren't mounted yet. Since they need to something to pull against their fingers can get jammed in there
just don't mess with them absentmindedly when unmounted and youll be fine. If you want to move the heel piece, grab it by the dildo and push the binding flat against the table like it's mounted to it and carefully work the heel piece using the table as the leverage
