First trip out west from PA. Heading to Denver for a week and a few of us decided we want to ski a few days. Plan to fly in early via southwest to Denver on sunday, ski mon-wed, 2 days at breck, 1 day at copper. Driving back to Denver Thursday for the weekend. Looking for advice on where to stay, things to do, and how to get around in Breck. We will be renting a car to make travel easier since this is the first trip, but how does the shuttle work? Is it worth staying in the "downtown" area by N Park Ave/ S Main St and shuttling to the lifts? Or would it be better to stay close to a gondola/lift and then shuttle to those bar restaurant areas in the evening? All advice and info is much appreciated.
Not a local but took my first trip out there a few months ago. Theres a tram/gondola that goes from the town right to the base lodge as well as tons of bus-shuttles up to various locations.
I'd recommend staying in town with walking access to bars/downtown because it was real easy to get to the mountain.
I work for the tourism office here in Breck, you can shuttle from pretty much any airbnb in the area which is what I recommend. The best bars are pretty easy to locate by just walking down Main Street and listening. There's always events going down and things to do are pretty easy to find. Gondola/lifts are right downtown anyways so just find something within your budget
Stopped through breck for some beers a couple of months ago. Some dude came in, ordered a beer, and then started puking in the corner. about 4pm.
Not sure how that's relevant but I thought you should know. Also breck isn't that big and the bus is pretty easy. And as mentioned you can catch the gondola from town.

No it was hilarious. Snapped a pic of my buddy casually drinking while dude continued to puke. Then he ran out the back puking more and went riding by on his bicycle for the ultimate wobbly getaway. Dude was a legend. Always meet quality people when drinking in summit.

Summit County, it really rocks!! What’s the name of this fine establishment?
Don't listen to hardo crusty local here. Like everyone else in Denver he probably moved there 5-8 years ago and now complains about crowds and traffic constantly.
All good. But it's you and like a dozen other guys who are actual locals probably. I understand the feeling sometimes being raised in an area that is very popular moving destination for a number of reasons, but at the same time get over it or move elsewhere.
SkiBum.What pass do you have? Because Breck and Copper are on different ones. And day ticket buying at each will be spendy.
I bought the Ikon Pass so the only days that we would have to buy would be a day at Breck. I was looking at doing a day at copper, breck, and A basin since that just got added to Ikon as well.

Might as well not do Breck and just stick to a bay and copper. If you want variety, Winter Park isn't too long of a drive away.

Man if you have the Ikon Winterpark is a fun day of skiing in Summit with lots of varying terrain.
eastcoastrider22Ok so bringing this up again. Since I have the Ikon this year, figured just do copper for 3 days. Thoughts on staying at Copper vs Frisco vs Breck?
Honestly if you're getting an ikon, stay either in copper, frisco or silverthore, and then ski copper hella and take a trip out to Winter park (an hourish from any of those places). You stay anywhere there you can easily hit A basin too, even A-bay and Copper in the same day if you really want

Lol. Happenings in summit county always seem to have a south parkish aura about them
