I want to get down there sometime. Living in Vancouver it's a relatively easy day trip. I'll have to keep an eye on conditions this spring.

I know that most moment offerings will do just fine as the snow isn't all that different from the Sierras, but want to know what frequent Baker skiers are using

I ride the deathwish 112 at Cypress and occasionally Whistler, I think the snow packs are pretty consistent between those places and Baker. Typically higher moisture content than Sierras but not a lot different. The skis rip in the fresh, slush, lumpy crud, mashed potatoes. They're fine on the firmer rain crust and refreeze hardpack type stuff but don't carve it up like a narrower more cambered ski could potentially.

Have you had to a chance to try the 104? The places where the 112 is just fine is where the 104 really shines.

A while ago some goon was ripping tele on the moment blades. He was passing through with the demo event where I tried some moments. Lowkey might get a tele setup for this season if I cant figure out my boot pain. Heel absolutely killing me so driving the front of the ski and buttering hurts. Will size down first and if that dosn't help I'm stuck to tele.

Ya they are. Always hitting the craziest lines knees down. Just looks painful as fuck lol. Blades are wild in general so just couldn’t picture using tele on them

@hot.pocket how do you compare the Wildcat 108 to Rossignol Free Sender 110 and Dynastar M Free 108? Narrowed it down to these 3 options. I mostly ski in the Bozeman area. Love to sky steepest stuff I can find. A little nervous to jump into tight shoots and couloirs. Looking for a big mountain ski that's also nimble for chutes and trees.

I skied the wildcat 108 for years as a daily in Bozeman. Loved them 10/10. I would argue that they are slightly (emphasis on slightly) better of a bridger ski than a big sky ski but that's just me. They do exactly what you describe and if I had to pick a ski that can both rip down Hellroaring and huck the top of superman the 108 cats are a great ski to do it. Always felt stable and always felt nimble enough through tight trees.

That being said you listed two other amazing options. Never skied the M Free but have friends who rip big sky harder than me who ski those.

I saw all of those a ton at bridger, I’m sure you won’t go wrong with any of them. I rode the bibby (older wildcat) and they just ripped.

Very nimble ski especially for the width. But still busted through crud like nothing.

it sounds like you have more focus on steep/free ride stuff vs freestyle which sounds just perfect for the m frees. I’d also look at Rustlers, knew a guy on them and he skied everything

The rossi and dstar are quite a bit heavier, their suspension is also incredible. Those skis munch.

Thanks for you feedback man. Good to know that you like the WC 108. Seems like impossible to find deals on WC 108s or Ross Free Sender 100. I was able to find a deal on the Dynastar, so leaning that way because of the $300 price difference.

None of these skis is “worse” than the other. Just better for different styles of skiing. Sender can lay a mean edge and straight line through literally anything. M free likes to slide around a bit more but still has straight line stability of the sender. Can’t speak on the moment. But these are big boys, gotta be on it.

Like ^ said, no best to worst, just better at different things. If you have a park background, the wildcat or the sender may feel a little more natural- The M Free has a recommended mount point of -8 vs the Wildcat's -6 (i think) and like -4 on the Rossis (again, I think). Not a bad ski at all though.

Another variable here is durability. Moments are also built super well, and Big Sky (bridger too) has a ton of rocks early season and It isnt uncommon to chew through bases in under a season if you ski hard. My Moments didnt seem to mind all that much when an untracked Z chute at bridger turned out to be 2 inches of snow on top of a pile of rocks.
