sambuswellI've never bought a new pair lol, thanks to forums and online sites you can usually find a good deal on something that is used. I mount and tune everything myself too, to save the hassle and cost of going to a shop. It's fun to build a cheap setup and enjoy it without having to worry about the skis being brand new.
That's what I always do too. I only buy new if its over 50% off but there are never many used twins with any life left available where I am. I don't end up accumulating skis because they break.

People hate on sidelineswap for taking a moderate % of the transaction but it’s allowed me to grow my quiver by selling stuff I don’t use anymore to make way for new stuff. You’d be surprised how desperate people are when they accept your low offers. You do have to wade through pages of GS skis and dumb race suits to find good stuff but I just came up on this years Volkl Revolts and an older pair of Moment Vices both mounted with great bindings for less than what a single new set up on evo would cost.
Sell Salomons I don’t use much to cover most of cost and repeat process. Boom, quiver grows.

NS buy and sell forum is awesome too.
Yeah I've used NS b/s/t before but almost everything is in the States. Once you factor in the exchange rate and shipping, the numbers get much bigger.

Agreed, I go between Canada and Australia and it's tricky. Then again I got a pair of 2017 Billygoat's for $550 Cad, basically untouched besides the single mount.
17 Majesty Lumberjacks w/ tyrolia x17
17 Majesty Vandel 2 w STH 13
16 Fatypus M5 w/ jester demos (not a big fan of them, don't use them much)
09 Lizzies w/ griffons that I just resurrected from the closet
The Vandals aren't going to last much longer, many edge cracks and the other day at Stowe there was just no hope anymore on ice and firm snow. Great ski though, this is the first time I am really considering replacing my park ski with the same ski. I'm going to rock the lizzies for a bit and see if I can remember how tostados ski them haha.

They're handmade in central Finland and they charge. A one ski quiver for me. If you want to learn more about these, feel free to PM me! also @pususkis on IG.
I recently got a pair of Lupos and kingpins, don't have a ski for the kingpins tho at the moment.
New Kartel 96s coming in soon with Pivot 14s and a new pair of Blends that i'm remounting old FKS 14s on that should be in today. Probably gonna grab some Candide 3.0s with pivot 18s so I am permanently broke.

where are your rustlers mounted? picking up a pair of the 10s fairly soon and was curious

I skied then both at mounted at recommended and then at 1.25cm forward of the mount. Skied fine at recommended but more playful and less critical of stance at the forward mount. Kept them at 1.25cm forward which is about 6.5cm back of center which is close to the Bibby(6cm)and PB&J(5cm) mounts.
What size of 10’s are you getting and what’s your size? If you go longer for your size you can push the bindings forward 2cm from recommended so you get the stability of the extra length but they are still playful.

Went with a pair of 188s, got them mounted 1.5 forward, absolutely love em, best ski i've been on in a while, thanks a bunch for the tip!

Perfect! Was out on a pair of 10s for a bit today in the 188 and after a few runs moved them forward about the same amount and liked them better there.

I find them very boring and they just don't react how I wanted them too. The tip taper is too much and too long, they get sketchy (fluttery is how I would describe it) if you are skiing fast in deep pow. The pivot point of them is really far forward it feels like, kinda how a boat steers form the rear.
The weird thing is I love dead feeling skis. I've always liked K2's, I hate the way a super poppy snappy ski feels. I think if the M5 was full rocker it would loosen it up and make it more fun. It's just not the ski for me. It really needs to be mounted at recommended and that's not my style.
lukemeahan.Billygoats with shifts and custom k116s with pivot 18
Yooo! What did you change on your 116s? That's killer, got similar vibes over here.

Not like they need it on here, but huge shoutout to on3p. Snapped my right 116 at meadows on a friday afternoon, crossed my fingers and called the factory and as luck would have it, they had a single of last years in my size. Ended up swinging by 30 mins before they closed for MLK weekend to grab the replacement before my friends and I drove out to Schweitzer that night. Best customer service in the game!
