Kolbalt7The whole thing is really aggravating. it's almost January and there's still no updated shipping date. they said in the email that it would be early January at the very latest, and it would most likely be before that. but it looks like that's not true. they seriously need to get their shit together. the skis better be A1 if I'm ever going to buy their stuff again.

also, does anyone know how we're getting the coupon? like is it going to come in the box with the skis, or are they going to email everyone a code? has anyone gotten theirs yet?

i know this is the internet so everything has to be a dramatic, audacious claim, but do you really believe that they won't receive their skis? and if they do, more than half will break? cause id be happy to bet you on that

what im getting at is yes, they screwed up, but you people sure love to act like the sky is falling. they messed up and didnt handle the customer service side of things well at all. they'll get their skis late, and the world will continue to spin

and for what it's worth, i really like my talismans. good skis that i got for a fraction of a normal price haha

At this point I would say it is a coin flip if people ever get their skis

I also know that Revision skis break at an alarming rate. Maybe half of them, maybe less, maybe more.

The folks who never ski hard probably won't brake them, but of the folks I know do ski hard and do use revision skis have all broken at least one ski.

i also agree that half, or more, or less, of the skis will break. that's a really good point, thanks for posting

as for your third point: i have skied many many park and freeride skis since i started in 2000. i have put my talismans through lots of abuse including landing on a rock off a cliff and they are taking it very well. im not claiming that other people won't have worse experiences but in my experience these skis have held up just fine esp considering their bargain basement price

agreed. that's exactly why i bough revisions, i could get a more expensive ski of similar shape but the things exist for me to slam on rails, rocks, and landings. if i can get a deal on em i might as well because i highly doubt their durability will remove less value from my use than amount added by the good price. i have thoroughly trashed volkls, armadas, salomons, dynastars... they all get thrashed. cause im just that good, cobra commander!

well, i think that's a huge range and 60% sounds extremely pessimistic. but theyll never release those numbers (and if they did and we wanted to really get analytical about this we'd need to account for prices in our calculations) so this discussion is largely academic i guess haha

not sure where your pulling that number from. I've had a few skis from revision and found them to be really durable. I have a set of the original talismans that I use when its early or late season and literally slam on rocks and grass and shit and they've held up for 3+ years after being subjected to nothing but abuse...same deal with the subtractions i have. I actually got a second set of subtractions in the bigger size because I was so impressed by them. When I used to ski atomic i would go through at least a set of park skis and a set of pow skis every season so its not that I'm easy on my gear. Im stoked to have my blinks come in when they get them out (should be soon) and for what its worth this is the first time in the 3 years I've been a customer that I've heard of any issue with them or had my skis show up late...

have you ever actually owned a set of skis from them? like had any personal experience at all? they're actually quite good skis IMO, people just freak out because they're not buying from a shop and paying twice for the same product

people love to bandwagon on things like this. revision threads ebbed and flowed between being net positive net positive in the past and just when it seemed they were trending more positive, this thread happened. and i think it's fair to complain about this. but it's also caused plenty of armchair experts adding their opinions on skis theyve never ridden

First three kids that can send me proof of their pre-season purchase to Logan.imlach at armadaskis.com, I'll send you a pair of ARV86 skis that got used at our park test last season (drilled once for demo bindings) as long as you cover cost of shipping. I'll go ahead and delete this post when I've got 3.

Update: 3 people are in, sorry I don't have more skis for the rest of you guys getting screwed. I really do feel bad for revision that they had a manufacturing mishap, but not replying to customers is straight up fucking Busch league.

-Dan"unreliable" aka no issues in first 3 years of operation and plenty of happy customers which have allowed for the company to gro.

"unprofessional" aka deciding that quality of product is most important and knowningly taking the hit to their reputation (ex. this thread) instead of shipping out sub par skis. all the while maintaining timely communication with their customers + offering a $100 coupon code valid for TWO YEARS. I know this because I ordered a pair of skis and I still don't really mind.

Its shitty of them not to respond but you guys were sending them multiple emails from November to January knowing very well the time frame they laid out for you. So I get that Revision made the wise decision to remake their skis, as opposed to half-assing the production and skimming on quality. That's smart. The $100 coupon they provided was smart, but nonetheless you all do realize that this is not a refund on the skis - no one receives money back in their pocket. Rather, customers purchase apparel from the website that will aid the company in marketing the brand.

Those who had made purchases were told and I quote, "We are promising an updated targeted ship date of the first week of January, but anticipate shipping sooner." Pretty words-y way of promising, but not promising something.

Well... today is January 10th and this promise fell through. An update had informed the customers that the skis are en route - which is great and all - but is a courtesy email to notify everyone of a further delay in the shipment. I get that that's not under their control, especially considering the holiday season and weather this time of year, but frustrating nonetheless. I gave them the reasonable benefit of the doubt every time, yet I felt as if I was being slighted.

It's one thing to deliver on the production of a quality ski. It's another thing to deliver a quality ski on time and follow through will all the promises made to your customers, all the while being as transparent as necessary so this thread doesn't happen. Not an ideal way to gain or keep customers.

Quality skis are not inexpensive, regardless of the steal that these were, and I don't want to receive the runaround on something that I paid five months ago for and was unsure as to when I would receive them for two months of that time. The least they could do is hire more personnel to handle their customer service. I don't think I'm being unfair whatsoever.
