So, back in September I was looking around for a new pair of skis for this season. After hours of searching, someone recommended revision skis. They look sick so I got them for a sick deal during the pre-sale. There was only one slight issue, the skis ship date was "mid November" although that was kinda annoying I knew I wouldn't be skiing at all between now and that time. Fast foward almost 3 months and I still havent heard from them, so I sent them an email regarding the shipping. They said that they would contact me in the next week for an Update. They sent another email a few days later saying they ran into some issues during production. "Due to some quality inconsistencies, we made the decision to rebuild a good portion of our skis". At that time I was like "ok, well I would rather wait 2-3 more weeks for solid skis then get low-quality skis now". They also said they would send another email in about a week for a new ETA. I got the email this morning and they said the new shipping date would be THE FIRST WEEK OF JANUARY. Thats almost have way into the ski season. I'm disappointed because the skis looked so fun but theres no way im waiting that long.
But thats not all, they also gave me (and all other customers) a $100 coupon to there website. Sure I appreciate them going out of there way to do that because they definitely feel bad abut this whole situation, but $100 is not gonna keep me waiting around for another month and a half. So, what do you guys think. Are any of you guys in the same Boat as Me?
Could this issue possibly be the end of revision?
It's a pretty clouded situation overall. The basic gist is that the brands (Epic Planks/Batalla) had an ongoing working relationship and overlapping history. At some point Batalla were produced by epic planks. Towards the end Batalla were setting up their own ski factory and Epic Planks went out of business, I don't know for sure if those two things were causally related. I have heard rumours that some of the tooling for Batalla's factory was from Epic Planks. As I said, it's a clouded and proof of that is hard to come by because of a lawsuit...
What is known to be true, is that there was a lawsuit involving Bill Wanrooy (perhaps as part of 'Epic Planks' at the time) suing Batalla skis and winning. The settlement ultimately put Batalla skis out of business and Bill took the money from the suit to set up Revision.
Batalla were bankrupt and therefore unable to fulfill ski orders. The owners and brand were also legally bound by the settlement not to publicly comment on the details of the case. I've heard that is why customers of Batalla never got any explanation of goings on. It is also why the full story never came out, but has been alluded to in published stories about the whole saga.
I'm sure there is someone on here who knows the intricate details better than me, but that's the basic story from what I've heard.

I believe epic planks was bills first attempt at a ski company. And well lets just say I think they made it 3 seasons and don't think its around any more. And I believe Batalla skis was a project bill was heavily involved in. And well lets just say that company lasted 2 years is not around any more. Seems to be a stunning pattern.
I feel like you guys are being to hard on the guy. Im still paitently waiting for my skis to arrive. Its only been 475 days since i ordered the skis. Im sure their coming. Bills a good guy.

There is a lot I would say to Bill. On one hand he got me started in this industry many years ago. But what he did to me, and everyone associated with Revision, is unforgivable. I hope for the sake of his family everything is okay and that they are doing well. But god damnit how can someone do that to such a tight-knit team who (in part or in whole) depended on him to make ends meet. Not to mention the countless kids who have not (and probably will not) get their skis/money back.

Read the guy is/was a journalist of some sort so portraits makes sense. If recalled correctly, someone in the thread mentioned they had a home phone and they actually had the wife on the phone for a brief moment. So this makes some sense - can’t believe it’s still at this point tho

She isnt part of his business mess up as far as I can tell.
I also think part of it was that they got divorced which may have led to the company going down.

I have no idea how the business got to this point, or if they are divorced. The divorce that for sure took down a ski company was Klint.

I have no idea on that front - you could be totally right here. I just do know the story with Klint was that a divorce wiped out the company's funding.

I made a thread on this a bit ago, I don't wanna go find it but I think something's happening with revision, a while ago the revision website went down. About a month ago the site returned.
Unfortunately yes. TJ went silent on the whole team and shut up shop. I’ve tried asking around to get the real details but the only thing that came back was manufacturing issues at the new place.
Some easy research using facebook and Scott's post about his wife indicates that he is not divorced, living in Kalamazoo area and is alive. From a human story pov I am intrigued. What would cause someone to do this. It really doesn't sound like he is a huge piece and that he is more than likely dealing with some personal issues and legal issues. No one can keep this quiet about things unless they are suicidal or bound by the law.

There's a line in the sand with this shit, fuck him and his wife, his kids should be forced to change the name their parents soiled. Run them all through the mud, they took thousands and are carrying on like it wasn't shit. But yea, let's be nice! It's not like we got the wrong fucking guy like reddit with a bomber. What if we took this to the internet vigilantes at Reddit. Make a thread try and get it popular, as some of those people really like fucking with others on the internet. If you can get enough people on that website on something I'd say anything is possible haha

Dude if we involve r/skiing on reddit people will probably shit on it bc those guys are your typical main stream riders. I lurk often and they’re not the same caliber as here (this isn’t hate, it’s just a statement) - however some guy claimed his old boss was the yellow jacket on Js new skis, so that should show some age.
If you really wanna do this, you’d need to take it to r/prorevenge or some page that actually has potential to get to the front page. It’s rare a ski post on r/skiing makes it past a few hundred votes. But what do i know, you can literally post this thing multiple times to get as much exposure as you can. Redditors are also very against doxing users, but if it’s the general public they’ll have a field day.

It wouldn't make it on r/prorevenge unless we actually got his ass in trouble in court. Then it'd be a very good r/prorevenge story.
Until then, it's just a dead end. I don't know what subreddit would be good for this story tbh. I don't know how much more Reddit could do either. We know who he is, we know (roughly I believe) where he lives, and we know he's a piece of shit. We don't know motive and the only way to get the motive is for someone to befriend him and slowly pry it out.
