What turf to use for summer setup?

As you could of guessed from the title, I'm looking for the best sliding turf to use for a summer set-up. The East Coast right now couldn't be shittier than Florida for skiing, so I need to really get on some skis during the next few weeks. I got my rails already ready and I got a slight slope in my backyard so it'd be amazing is someone could tell me the best sliding turf. Thanks.

Just like anything lowes or home depot has just dont get looped turf it works but i don't care for it the longer and thicker the better but really anything works.

Really anything works. 6x8 sheets are like $20. Cut accordingly. I have one for a landing its a pretty good size. Id also put some lattice on the the start of your drop with the most slope, makes it even a little faster. Make sure to have turf on the lip and a little before that if you end of doing lattice. I think a 6x8 sheet is like $23 or so, and cuts really easy with a handsaw or even a hack saw.

Would putting turf, like football field turf, work for sliding with skis?

Kinda yes. Its more expensive though. Find outdoor carpet or fake grass (its really thin). Not that hard to find. Stores usually will make custom sheets but also have pre cut rolls. Mine was near the carpets section. I can find what i got online for you if needed

Nah it's fine. I might go to home depot. What is the best sliding turf? Because I've told that thick turf slides really well but then again football turf is thick turf. So what? More like putting turf (golf)?

Yah i have a putting like turf. It works fine. The more you use it the better it will start sliding. I used mine like 4 days in a row to get it soaked and "broken in". Literally an type of turf works. I have a thinner one and it works great. Ive used a friend who has slightly thicker and it worked fine

I got a few rolls at lowes for like $20 and it works perfectly. I would put some lattice or construction fence at the top of your drop in for speed though

Imo it's kinda a waste of money and turf. You can just put lattice on the first section and then finish the tranny and lip with turf

I did this and I went way too fast and couldn't control my skis. What kind of lattice did you use?

I'm from MN and we lay out sheets of plywood on a hill in my friends backyard. We get ORANGE CONSTRUCTION fencing instead of turf and double it up laying it over the plywood, spray silicone spray on it every half hour and your golden

Just the white plastic kind. it is kinda sketch cause you need to keep your skis flat based cause if you set in any edge you eat shit

I'm in the exact same boat as you OP. Even with a slight hill I'm going to build a small platform to get initial speed and then lay turf down over it on the lip.

Whats your budget? Basically any turf will work, but if your willing to spend more I would check out Msnow and get some of that. Its way better than turf
