Yeah I know there were some rant threads over the years grinds my gears and whatever. I don't think any of them were that happening to dig up. I probably made one of them honestly. Whatever.

I figured if we could rant somewhere we'd be more docile creatures in the rest of the forums.

And now some granny fell asleep while driving. Front of her car was like 1 meter deep in the snow. We dug for like 45min

I've skied 4 times this year between injuries and lack of snow in one of the snowiest areas of the country. Fuck it. Selling all my ski gear and only posting on pinkbike from now on

Sadly can relate to this, got 5 days so far mostly cause I hate my local lol but now I’m going to school next year in the big city nowhere near skiing so I guess my skis are just gonna be wall art for a little while. Tyrol basin actually put in some decent features now though so I’ll hopefully be squeaking in a few more days before their season inevitably ends mid March

knee swelling went down a tiny bit. I can weight the leg and kind of hobble around without crutches. So that's good. Hoping it's just a really bad sprain but idk. Its still super stiff and i get some pretty damn sharp pains when i move it in the wrong way.

tyrols setup early season last year was one of the most fun parks i’ve ever skied, same with the spring from two szns ago. this year looks sad

Sometimes sucks when low expectation birthdays fail to meet anything. Idk everyone wants you to be like "It was so much fun thanks!" Even if you're lying. Idk was pretty meh. Also sucked I chose to play some tunes at the brewery. Got influxed by a random band, a not very good band. Dude drumming had no concept of time. Really ruing thatvibe of playing some music. Will def go next week and take a reboot but that was shit. Idk when somebody ruins your song when you ask them to sit one out and they start playing. Fuck that. I am a drummer i used to play a ton. Fucking no means no. And you should always realize so much before ever being asked. And if asked chill for a song.

I hate the skis I’m in today, my dad and boyfriend ganged up on me at breakfast making me cry, then ignored me when i said I needed another run to warm my knee up so now I’m crying in pain in the lodge because they completely made skiing today awful. This was supposed to be fun and instead I’m told to stop being a baby while I’m literally just trying to not have sharp knee pain, I just need two blue runs to get my leg going and then I’m good jfc

L boyfriend. Ice and then a hot epsom salt bath will help with the knee. And possibly stretching. Seems like you have it figured out.

I was talking more about true “rest stops” or you guys seem to call them “ scenic rest areas”

All of ours usually have full facilities and food stores etc. yours were just small parking lots with nothing. A lot of the stops off i70 had no services. Just homes.

we did get off at one little town. They had a gas station and a mcd. Big time.

They’re actually out of state tourist who eat there the most. It’s made for locals but people doing long road trips. Either far down south to the keys or going back up north out of the state. We have tons of Canadians that drive down as well as tons of northern east coasters who try and flee the cold.

The amount of customers I've had recently that refuse to buy boots that would otherwise fit them and their ski level perfectly simply because the colour isnt what they had in mind is astounding.

Its all these nouveau-riche PRChinese or Thai customers - effectively the 'crazy rich Asian' types who are far less interested in skiing as a sport and more interested in skiing as a status symbol... to show off that theyre loaded enough to afford ski holidays abroad.

Its not like western customers cant be like this as well - but at least they buy something at the end of the day. Theyre almost always less concerned about the colour and far more concerned about the price - and will put their feet into an ill fitting ski boot simply because it was within whatever budget they set for themselves, rather than spending like 50-100 bucks more on something that would make them far more comfortable and less likely to waste half their holiday in the shop having their shitty boots customized.

Normally I'd never really be bothered with it, but it's just extremely annoying when you spend all this time with someone while other potential customers are waiting - sometimes leaving - and they then leave without buying anything simply because they cant stand that their boot isn't the exact white or blue colour they envisioned. Its akin to having a 6 seat restaurant, with a massive waiting list, and having someone hmmm and haw over the menu for like an hour before then leaving without ordering any food - complete timewaste.

The worst is the east coast toll roads. Non toal roads generally have more exits. The toll roads can be a huge pain in the ass to get off to get food. I can't believe with everything people protest we still have toll roads. Things are beat

Fuck the PA turnpike. If I drive from Cleveland to 7 springs it costs me 33$ just in tolls for a ~3 hour drive

Got so sick my 2nd night in Finland. Vomiting all night and slept all the next day. Which means I am so messed up with jet lag.

Your boy is down bad. Never had jet lag this bad. I’ve been feeling physically sick when waking up because I’m so tired. Also, suffering some bad dizziness when rising or laying down. Add on some dehydration.

This the first season I went without big ass spurs on my ankle/heel. they are still there just not as bad since I changed boots

tomahawked into a tree at mach speed on monday. got super lucky avoiding any head/neck/back contact but my left quad is still mad swollen and bruised up nearly a week later. weird injury cause my knee is stable but my thigh is still too sore to put much weight on. getting a doc to look at it in a few days so i guess i'll find out what's wrong.

and of course all this had to happen right at the start of the first significant storm all year. so i get to watch friends on insta get face shots while i'm icing and munching advil. delightful

I bruised my quadricep in a really similar manner once. Knee was fine but quad was toast. It took like 6 weeks to recover from that one. Muscle bruise can be really annoying sometimes

Jackson Hole was the mother of all shit shows today

Got the mountain at 11am and all lifts were shut except the bunny hill. The line for Bridger gondola was up halfway to sweet water mid station.

Nothing ended up opening today, everyone was pissed. Especially everyone who drove in from Denver & SLC.

The rest of this week should be all time if THEY OPEN THE DIDDLY DAMN MOUNTAIN
