I know there are more brown pow lovers on this site, yah there is pinkbike but lets be honest, newshcoolers is wayyyy cooler. so lets posts our rides, questions about components, mechanic questions etc in this thread.

I just bought this beauty and i definitely sacrificed uphill capabiltiy in order to get a beefier dh/park bike. id been on a nomad for a while and it's a huge switch in riding styles for me. definitely getting used to the weight and having to keep speed a lot more.

specs for said beauty, 2011 rc2 dh totem, 2012 dhx rc4, highrollers front and back (gona go dhf front and highroller in the back), mtx 33 wheel set, slx brakes, diablous cranks, FSA 760mm Handlebar, Shimano SLX Shifter & Shimano Deore XT Derailleur.

partyandBSso for work I need to start carrying my radio when im doing my observations. i dont want a chest mount. was thinking about doing the ol fanny pack. i think it would be dope to have one bolted on where the waterbottle holder is. is that a thing?? i cant find it online lol


This (https://unchartedsupplyco.com/products/park-pack) is my go-to bike pack when I'm looking to keep it a bit lighter. It would be pretty easy to put the radio in one of the water bottle holders. Or they're attached by micro molle, so you could swap one out for an actual radio holder. The main compartment is waterproof and it's built rock solid.

You could pretty easily make one, it would just have to withstand a lot of shaking.

If I had to carry a radio for work on my bike, without having to carry a full pack like Patrol, I'd get one of these and strap the radio into it, so it's handy, but you can pull it off and on the bike easily.

You could rig some sort of holster with a ski strap on the frame maybe? Sleeker option is wolftooth b-rad strap, I use one that bolts to my top tube and holds a small waterproof bag for flat repair and safety kit

Cuyuna, Minnesota. Pretty shit riding compared to anywhere outside of the Midwest, but for here it isn’t bad. Red dirt because the trails are built on an old iron pit mine.

That bike belongs in a freeride museum, never understood why they have 2 rear shocks but I always wanted to try one lol.

After a quick google, I found this posted by a Karpiel rider:
" The second thing most people get confused is this, the second air shock is NOT a blow off shock. It is there to work with the back shock to prevent harsh bottoming. It is activated about a 2/3 of the way through the travel."
So it essentially works simultaneously with the other shock, not adding more travel.
Maybe do some research before calling people dumb fucks.

Are latches on thru axles not a thing anymore?

I noticed my front wheel having a little movement side to side, tightened the other side down and stopped it, but I just feel like I’m missing something here

I’ve had nothing but great experiences in the 2 years I’ve been riding my izzo. Only thing is that the stock headset is floppy dogshit. I noticed a pretty big difference in stiffness when switching to a hellbender.

Which RS fork is that? Some axles just thread on and some have pinch bolts as well. Most of the 35mm stanchion and narrower forks from RS don't have pinch bolts

Honestly after my first ride, i am pretty blown away. I still need to dial it in a little more, but it felt amazing right out the gate. i'll be curious to see how it does long term compared to the X2.

Yeah, that’s the color.
It does have a matte ridewrap on it though, the normal color is way more glossy and in my opinion looks a bit better.
