My boss left early today so I followed suit and took advantage of the insanely beautiful weather we've been having. Caught a bakers dozen mostly small largies along with a northern and somehow a pig pumpkinseed on a 5" worm....
Since Huck yelled at me last time for not posting pics I snapped one even though its not one i'd normally pose with....

Nice work man! That's more like it!!
.frenchyTheyre all starting to flock under the lily pads now, weedless plastics and heavy duty line FTW
I have been froggin' a TON this year. I think I might be addicted.
Just goes to show that even though the sizes of some of these huge lures can be intimidating, even small bass aren't intimidated and they'll eat just about anything they can fit in their mouths.

When I go to a certain lake by my house I almost always catch a pumpkinseed or 2 on a 5" dinger. Idk how that happens.... they must just bite the worm perfectly on the tip of the hook
Also... Stoked to order a little more stuff, but not stoked at all that I neglected to check the $5 2 day shipping option and won't be using them this weekend.

Why don't you just call and fix it? Customer service......
.frenchyHugo i know your feel.... Spent over 300$ at cabelas in the past 2 months. RIP bank account.
and im fishing for fun too lol not even doing tournaments.
Not trying to one up you or anything, but i've spent $1,150 there in the last 2 weeks..... Always check the bargain cave for broken reels. My fishing partner just got a Revo SX for $45 and it just needed a $8 part replaced..... Thing was fuckin mint too
Anywho, brought my lil bro out to prefish with me, and if my tournament goes anything like today i'll be sittin reel nice at the weigh in. Had 4 fish 4+ lbs and 1 that was over 3. I lost one right at the boat though that woulda been the biggest. Based on the fish I caught I would guess 20-21 inches
Prefished again today solely to look for the big boys.... and holy tittyfuckin slopfest did we find em. Only got 2 of them on my phone but I caught 2 others just a lil smaller than these slopmonsters
If you guys out east have water temps in the low 70s I emplore you to try just inside the shallow weed edge. We swam jigs over the tops of the thick shit and hammered em. Sunfish are spawning so its like an all you can eat buffet for the big bass
God damn, this page is killing it in the stoke department.
MN bound in a month or so, looking forward to nothing but fishing and drinking delicious MN beer (mmmm, Surly) the entire time. Hugo, I may in fact hit you up if I'm bumming around with nothing to do for a day or so.

Sounds good dude! Just know that I absolutely do not catch fish like that ^ all the time haha
since my lake is now bathwater.... I'm fishing deep water now haha. Caught a 3lb pickerel in 15 FOW with a big ol swimbait, was going for the alpha male bass, but i aint complaining lol
Fished like shit in my tournament. Got one 3lb bass.... good thing is that there were 8 teams that didnt even weigh in a fish. Toughest 8 hrs of fishing in my life

Damn, tough luck. At least you didn't get skunked.
Caught this fat boy today on a softbait in NW connecticut... it was sitting on a bed and the water was bathwater.... Maybe not a bed lol, but the thing took 7 hook sets to land and went back to hovering over these white rocks every time, never got spooked. God, I love sight fishing for bass haha.
not a big bass by any means, I know. It was a little over a pound, but that lake isnt known for big bass at all, its one of the very few lakes in CT stoked with pike. its one of my ice fishing spots because you can fish it with good ice into mid april... surprising for CT. ELEVATION MAN
.frenchyBenson you shoulda gotten havoc pit bosses!!!

Believe me when I say I have three or four bags of pit bosses. Those things are awesome!

Devil spears are one of my personal favorites
And there is a good chance that bass was protecting his small fry that recently hatched
Your PB is so close to a state record! That's dope, you could get it one day!
Massachusetts is a little better off... Our state record is 15 I believe. My PB is only 6.5, but aside from a few seasons around Y2K when I was a little kid, last year was my first year bass fishing (caught my PB last summer, pics of the fish on the first page of this thread, I believe). An average catch around here is a 2, and 4-5 range and up is what I consider a "big fish".
My dad has caught an 8 lber and an 8.5 lber (both several years ago when I was a kid), and my cousin who has a bass boat and fishes tourneys has a 9 as his PB.
This summer I'll get down to those fantastic bass fishing ponds on cape cod and break that state record!

HOWEVER, the trade off is that I can't fish for walleye, pike, or musky like MN guys can. It's pretty much LMB, Pickerel, occasional trout, SMB if you head north, and panfish.
