For or against them, love them or hate them, the NRA is driven by the will of it's 4 million american citizen members.

I wish people would stop talking about the NRA as some huge money grubbing corporation like some big oil company. the NRA reflects the ideals of a big chunk of the American population and are driven by their members.

I'm saying that rates and totals will be higher in a country with more people and more guns by a longshot. I'd love to see numbers on gun owners/population in the US vs UK.

Probably impossible though as most guns here in the US at least are unregistered.

Fair enough, but the point is what is the point of discussing it? Why is everyone arguing about it? We can go on for pages about the reasons that the military uses a technically less lethal round to some of you, but that's pointless. Why does everyone have to be buy the biggest, baddest...for what?

I personally would take the smaller of the 2 rounds. Faster, flatter and more accurate. The speed of that smaller bullet will rip through your vest, flesh and backside of the best.

because this is a conversation about weapons, particularly assault rifles. the most common round in the world for assault rifles is the 7.62x39, its what the AK shoots. the gun doesnt kill people, the bullet does, so ammunition is incredibly relevant to the discussion

its worth discussing because we are discussing firearms. some people are saying 'OMG AR-15' is too dangerous of a weapon for civilians to own.

people should just be happy stupid dudes flock to the AR platform. the batman shooter had one, thankfully they suck and it jammed on him. had the dude been wielding an AK i guarantee more people would have died.

i could literally dunk my Mak90(AK47) in a muddle puddle and it would still cycle perfectly.

now that was a tangent i went off on.

I think a lot had to do with the clip, he had a huge after market 100 round drum on there. I have noticed people have problems when they dont use factory clips.

i think you're pretty spot on with that assessment. I know that I have issues with all of my aftermarket clips. i also begin to have this issue with OEM clips as they age and start to wear down. my understanding is that it's due to the spring pressure in the clip not being up to par, so the rounds don't eject effectively thus causing a jam.
