So this is my understanding of the situation. Direct TV wants to offer their customers the ability to eliminate commercials from television that they record. Every other TV provider has the ability to do this. Nobody has gone through with it because companies like Viacom will lose of business and so in turn, will the TV provider. Viacom and other producers warned Direct TV they would pull something like this if they didnt eliminate their plans to add the advertisement skipping feature.
As a viewer, I'd love to be able to skip over ads, but I can understand Viacoms position here. This feature would take a lot of business away from them. Still, fuck Viacom and shouts out to Direct TV for being a company for the people.
Everybody hates chris is pretty funny, comedy central is hilarious, and occasionally mtv can be useful (fantasy factory, jersey shore, etc.) Good thing i have fios. Suck my gaping anus you loathing fucks.
