Forsake on Kickstarter - support a shoe company by skiers for skiers

A few years ago my friend and I noticed our friends and ourselves sliding around and soaking through our skate shoes because none of us wanted to wear ugly hiking boots. This inspired us to start a company that makes shoes that are fully waterproof and have a lugged sole, but also have the skate and urban style we won't give up for dry socks. We put in 2 years of work developing the company and our designs and now we're ready for mass production.

We put our project on the crowd-funding site Kickstarter.com (the same one that Jib Life is on) to generate the money for mass production. We are offering a bunch of rewards including pre-ordering the shoes at the wholesale price of $75. These will retail for $120 - $140 so that's a pretty solid deal for fully waterproof shoes.

Just so you know people who say they dont have the funds right now you dont get charged for quite some time. I backed another project and got charged just a few days before i received the gift so if you back it you still have time to get the funds!

Actually, I found them and they're called Nike ACG Baltoro's. Nike ACG is a the brand but not the name of that particular boot DERP.

So what happens if by the date on Kickstarter, there are not enough funds? Does it just get dropped, or can you extend it ? I'd love to see this get to production.

If we don't reach our goal when the project ends no one gets charged for what they pledged. We'll keep at it though and continue to raise money from other outlets. Once we're ready for production we plan to contact everyone that pledged to give them the chance to pre-order again at the same price.

Thanks for the support guys!

If we don't make out goal on kickstarter our debut will be delayed, but we'll keep pushing to get into stores. We have meetings lined up for the spring 13 season that will hopefully go well for us. There's still a chance for the kickstarter though!

Yeah the shoes are made by the Pou Chen Group which is the largest manufacturer of footwear in the world. The factory we're using (in China) builds boots for Timberland and abides by their "Code of Conduct" for manufacturing practices.

Well the kickstarter campaign was unsuccessful but we are workin hard to get into stores for next spring. I just met with the buyer at REI Monday and things are looking promising! You can keep up with our progress by liking Forsake on FB or following us on twitter.
